Chiming in here with Want to Quit. I'm the other cap guy lol. I'm curious as well to see if anyone else has any issues with the v2? While I have been able to get it working most of the time there are still occasional drags that give slight burnt tastes.
Give me a v1 or v1+ any day over the v2. At least the V2 looks sexy on my Semovar !

Ether beat me to the answer. My vape only tool box has a couple disposable rubber gloves (though we reuse them) just for that reason of atty's stuck together. I do find I use it on my Semovar more than the others, especially the hybrid adapter to the Semovar threading.

This is a bad day for Semovarians around the world

I hate to do it, but a recent purchase is going to force me to liquidate some existing items... looks like my previous Semovar is probably going to go up on the chopping block.

Previous Semovar? You got two now? Are you just trying to make us jealous?

Recent purchase is forcing you? New wife?

Well, props to you for takin' care of your buddy. Well done. Yet another data point that Semo owners are different.

I have no issues with my KFL+ V2. Microcoil, 1.5mm, 28g. Coil ends facing the channels. Currently rayon wick, with very short tails. Just touching the channel top. More than 3 weeks on that setup -same freakin' wick. Zero burnt anything.

Thanks for the props! We always gotta help out our buddies. I am running my KFL+ V2 with 5/64 bit 28g @ 1.7 right now. It is vaping like a champ, but for some reason just doesn't quite stack up to my V1s.

Since this was originally a Provari VS Semovar thread, I guess I'll throw in my opinion....

I have owned a Provari 2.5 and now have a Semovar V3. When I got the Provari I really had no complaints. It was well made, accurate, reliable, and did the trick to give me a satisfying vape. However, I thought of all the comments like "own a Provari and you'll know" and I found myself wondering what everyone was talking about. I found a steal on a Semovar and sold my Provari. When I used my Semovar I was beyond impressed. I love the Semovars performance, quality, and upgrade potential. I like the facts that I can throw whichever tube I want on there, change out the top caps for a cleaner look, and flush mount just about anything there is.

For me, I vape to stay off cigarettes. Yes it has also become a hobby, but my main focus will and always will be to stay off smokes. For people that just want a satisfying and reliable vape you really cannot go wrong with either of these mods. Provari Vs Semovar is going to boil down to preference, and I honestly don't believe one is better than the other.

Phoneguy...if you have to let go of something it shouldn't be a Semovar. It should be the Futura (at a decent and merciful price to support democracy and the vaping cause in Egypt)!!!!

Oops, that was supposed to be my precious Semovar (not previous).

Which purchase... a new wife (LOL)... dude, I can't afford that buy! TRUST ME! and besides - my (old LOL) wife would probably shoot me before I could type the message out anyway....

Lol I miss my civic SI....just sayin.

The Provari (base) is 159 plus whatever they charge for the extention. 215 for the semovar with 650 and 490 tubes isn't too much more. Plus one semovar gives you the options of the Provari Mini and full size .

I must have missed something like I said I thought I saw the seminar for 399 euro I must have been looking at something else thanks for the clear up... BTW I owned a crx si, 98 si, and ep3 (2003) si... Loved them all

Newest addition to the crew

Good news, I'll be keeping all of these, my main arsenal of vw mods. Each has its own character.... The Semovar is beautiful, and will remain in my regular rotation which makes me happy......... I am a huge svoemesto fan, semovar fan and kayfun fan. YAY ME. The wizard is shorter, thinner and lighter than any other mod I own (except for ego's). Very impressive in terms of size.

But worry not my semovar brethren, I'm not going anywhere. My next adventure will be in building mods I think....

Nice display window on the Semovar. Classy touch.

We knew you were not going anywhere. You were just being needy. Sometimes that happens when you drink too much Coors Light. I should send you some Yeungling.

Building mods? Really? Buddy, pal, friend of mine, pm me sometime... Maybe you could make a better sticker too...

I'm really comfortable around electronics and soldering.... I'm not too good with cosmetic mods like cutting, alignment, etc. Getting the guts working is no problem, making it look good...thats the challenge. I wish I knew how to draw in CAD, bapgood (a member here on ecf) made a side by side in 23mm for his taifun with a dna30 board in the bottom that looks like a sticker(ish), had it printed at shapeways.... I don't think he released the design to the public though.

Yeah, I bet I could get the voltage drop lowered on a sticker, probably by replacing some of those pieces with copper pieces, though I don't think I ever saw one taken apart? did anyone ever post pictures of one disassembled?

So, the sticker now looks like this:
View attachment 317507

I'd be willing to bet that flat plate is what its transferring voltage through, get a piece of copper plate at a hardward store or even a craft store, try to cut, snip and drill to fit and replace that, I bet that helps a bunch.... but hey what do I know?

That sure is a lot of pieces for bending the connector 45* twice..... :?: looks overly complicated to me.

edit: you know, I remember some copper paint they used to sell at automotive stores to fix the defogging lines in rear windows... we use to use that on old amd cpu to change the clock speed. I wonder if a coating of that would improve anything.
