hi,
i would like to comment on the popularity of e cigs, from reading some of the anti ecigs reactions, it would seem they are victims of their own success, perhaps we should keep it quiet!!!!!!!!
the clean air act came into force here in oct 2012 and it has prompted smokers to try ecigs, the ones that looked like a cigarette didn't interest me but the pipe was something i was willing to try and from first use completely converted, i constantly tell others it really works and am getting known as a bit of a bore but it just seems crazy to me that people still choose to smoke tobacco when there is now a real alternative, i get comments such as "don't know what the risks are" ???????? and "there hasn't been enough research done", i find these remarks a little puzzling, but then each to their own. happy vaping :)

Welcome to ECF. There will always be nay-sayers. People that don't know any better believe anything they read. There is a lot of misleading information out there that is found by the uninformed on a daily basis. Just point them here where they can find relevant information and let them know that they have no idea what they are talking about.

I can certainly understand people hesitating. The fact is, there are still a lot of unknowns. Especially as it pertains to flavors...

That being said.... There HAS been plenty of research done on tobacco use, and we DO KNOW FOR FACT, that it WILL kill us slowly. So... I'll take my chances with the ecigs. At the very least, it will make it easier to wein myself off the nicotine, and potentially give up vaping a lot easier than giving up stinkies with out vaping.

Funny thing is that people are not hesitating due to a lack of information as we think, but really more due to a lack of exposure. You'll be shocked how susceptible people are to the mass media. The reason e-cigs uptake is as slow as it is right now is simply because there has been little to no marketing push to create awareness. e-cigs have come as far as they have over the past couple of years primarily due to word of mouth. And most of the time you see an e-cig spread on TV, its usually a slanted "is this good for you" clip that raises more questions than it gives answers.

Once money start going into marketing e-cigs then everything will change. But for that to happen, certain companies have to take a full proper interest in the medium, and those companies are currently playing a wait and see game right now before they step in (fully).

Ultimately, I am convinced e-cigs will completely replace cigarettes as we know it. Its just a matter of time.
