Hi Bruce, I like the idea of the smart carts you have in stock. I recently got 2- 5 pks from another vendor. First few vapes were great, then I got the nasty taste of burnt plastic. Upon removing the cart from my atty I noticed on both side right where the "groove channel" is that it was litterally burnt black and melted. This was on a 3.7v riva using a reg 2.3 ohm atty. I figured I must not have aligned the u-channel with the bridge, so I tried another one... Same thing from it. Was there a change in materials from the first version when they went to version "2"? I can't tell you where the others actually came from since it was in a "grab bag" from a site that sells stuff from lots of different vendors. I guess what I REALLY want to know is have you had this happen with the ones you have in stock? Thanks...

Knock on wood, I haven't had any problems with the prefilled that I bought from Bruce. I bought some empties from another vendor and so far so good. I need to get some of Bruce's version 2's to see if they are the same. Neat idea these things are. I got away from filler but gave these a shot and so far enjoy them. No problems wicking yet and I don't mod them. I also want to try some of his cartomizers. Waiting on payday to do that.

use blue foam or try cutting the filler a bit to allow better juice flow.. or see my reviews ;)

I never use the factory filler. I should have put that in my OP. There's no issue with juice flow, the issue is the plastic on the ones I have (NOT COV's) melt under normal/light use. Maybe they are made out of inferior materials compared to the newer ones?

I have not had the burning plastic. Don't use a LR atty with SmartCarts. They can't wick fast enough.
This is a great product for it's relatively low price.

Tried them with an atty that ohms out at 3.4 ohms. Same thing, except took a few more puffs to melt. (And no I'm not chain vaping them.) Guess the ones I got in the "grab-bag" weren't that great. Guess I'll have to try a pack of yours in my next COV order...

I just got some smart carts today from Bruce, and I'm a huge fan. I've only tried them with the tobacco juice that comes with them, but I like em. Works better than any cart or carto I've used, but the fill doesn't seem to last too long.

Still can't complain. I'm not content with the filler, but noone that I purchase from stocks blue foam, and I'm not payin $3 in shipping for a 99cent item. I'll hit up the pet store and get some aquaclear foam or something. Awesome product tho Bruce.

well Bruce, I did what you said, and yanked the filler out of the v1 and rinsed it in hot water. It's drying now. I cut a little of the filler off of the wad because my juice is 80% vg and wasn't wicking all that well. After that it wicked properly but still had a little bit of the tobacco juice's taste, so I cleaned it out and I'm waiting for it to dry.

I give it an 8/10 so far (LR dripping being a 10), and thats for the "right out of the box" ones, not after cleaning, Not sure how it's gonna work when its all dry and freshly filled with 80% vg juice. No leaks, all in all they'll probably be the only "regular" carts I'll ever buy. Would like to try blue foam mod, but I'm not gonna go out of my way to do so.

Thats why I bought the 2.5ohm regular atty big guy. All of my LR's are de-bridged anyway for dripping. I definitely like these carts tho. The tobacco juice in there isn't fantastic but its not bad either. Thanks Mike for the PM, If there's anything you need, let me know.

Back to the point, yeah these carts are great, much much better than any standard 510 cart out there. Ovale also makes a 510 tank, they're expensive as hell and they come with an atty (no refils on ovale's site) but I'm very interested in those too. My problem has been solved tho, I need carts/cartos that will take my juice and not leak/flood. These pull that off, at least with the tobacco juice. I did put the TopVapes juice in there but I didn't rinse beforehand so it tasted like the tobacco juice, nevertheless, still wicked ok, Could be better, but not much. Tastes great, less filler.

.

Checks in the mail...erm I mean some blue foam strips are in the mail.

When it's payday I'll have to try a box of Bruce's "version 2's". 'Cause the ones I have burn even with a HV atty on a 3.7v pv.

sounds like you didnt line the cart up with the atty. if you dont line it up right you will burn the edges of the cart. unless i am reading the first post wrong and am totally clueless. (that could be)

Yes, I checked to make sure it was lined up correctly. I think the material on the carts I got from the other source were inferior.

I put a super-thin slice of a scortchbrite pad on one, and it actually turned out great. Wicks, keeps wicking, and doesn't burn or flood my atty. Alltho I will definitely try the blue foam when I get it, thanks for that mike. This scotchbrite stuff seems pretty solid tho.

that is really clever! I will have my video online later this evening after work. around 20:30CST
I have used both the blue foam (best method) and also the thinning of the white poly-fill that comes in the cart, it needs to be modified to suit whichever atty is being used. you will then yield some positive results.

On a sidenote, I left a cart with the scotchbrite mod in there overnight and the juice got a little cloudy, which reminded me that THESE THINGS have the word scotchbrite stamped onto them in some kind of white paint! So if you're gonna use em, rinse em the F out under hot water lol. It only happened to 1 of the 3 I left out overnight, but thats another thread. The mod works like a charm.

I'll also start posting reviews of my own towards the middle of summer. I may as well contribute since this is a product that I believe will save lives.
