SMOK coil and Coil Adaptor wont co-operate

Hey,
hope someone can give me a hand with this

had this issue before and now most times I have to brute force them apart but this time it will not budge, wondering if there is a better way to get these apart.
already threw one in the bin because it wouldn't come off

I would try to heat up the coil housing, probably by placing it in boiling water for a minute or two maybe longer if needed. Try not to heat up the adapter directly.

What model from Smok is this from? Why the adapter?

That looks like an adapter for a TPD sized tank to make it the same capacity as a standard tank.
