Hello Everyone,

I picked up yesterday my very fist Mech mod, with a Tobh Atty all in Copper.

The Vanilla mod is amazing and that thing hits like a champ. I picked up this mod in my local vape store here in Coral Springs, Florida for $100 (yeah I know right).

The Atty on the other hand was a little expensive as I paid $35 for it.

The cons of this talked about Mech Mod is that the Secure switch is a little flimsy and gets stuck a little, I have heard that the copper is that way. I also have found that a lot of dirt forms up around the posts which you have to clean a lot.

Pros, well the Mod looks amazing and for the price I picked it up I cannot complain at all. It will patina a bit and I sure hope it does as I like the looks if it does. Right now it looks real new and shine.

I run this setup on a dual coil with 26 gage Kanthal (micro coil) at 0.45 Ohms. The Vapor is huge and the favor is real nice. Hot nice vape with no additional holes drilled. The Atty comes with its factory holes.

Now my question to this post, would you go higher Ohm to get it a little colder or drill bigger holes? In my opinion the vape is slightly hot when you take a couple of wapes, I guess coming from a Provari Mini with a kayfun 3.1 setup (running at 1.4 Ohms single coil).

Ideas feedback, and other input is welcomed.... also if anybody else has this Mod what are your thoughts.

Is the atty's cap lined with stainless or is it just copper? If just copper, I'd toss it in the name of safety's sake. Don't want juice in contact with copper from what I have heard, and heed to myself.

Other than that, looks slick. :)
That's ridiculous.
Do you know what your hot water pipes are made of?
You drink water from copper pipes every day.
Copper is used in high end cookware.
Your copper Atty is not gonna kill you unless you melt it into a bullet and shoot yourself with it.

I wish people would use some reasoning skills and stop regurgitating this crap.

Drill about 8 to 10 more holes in it and build lower. :)

Yes, actually I do know what pipes are made of buddy, I am a plumber.

Safety blurb aside, I have noticed that it can/will effect the flavor.

FYI I don't drink the tap water around here, as I have done a fair amount of research as to what is in it...

I would venture to say that most of the stuff in your tap water is not from the copper pipe itself.

You are correct for the most part; however do some homework and search the interwebs for a family of chemical compounds called chloramines, and see what their purpose for being in the water supply is.

Put simply, they are added to the water supply in certain areas for certain reasons pertaining to the copper pipe itself.

I dont doubt it.On the flip side its said that aluminum causes parkinsons yet I dont see soft drinks being pulled off the shelves.

As far as my knowledge goes without researching I thought chloramines were added to water supply as a disinfectant not necessarily a "Copper" treatment.

From what I have been taught by people who supposedly know more than myself, that is not the case.

Either way, I have not drank tap water for many years now. Regardless of the chloramines and blah blah, the ground water around here or anywhere for that matter is sketchy with the amount of pollutants in it.

I LOVE the way the Vanilla looks with a nice patina ! I've wanted one for a while now. Does yours have the logo brand or VANILLA on it ? I was just checking them out online and saw the new ones only have the S.M. logo on it.

I'd go with a higher ohm build first and if you're not happy you can always drill it out, but if you drill first and don'like it you're kinda stuck. When I first started dripping .4 was too hot for me as well....didn't last long though, LoL

Congrats on a sweet looking piece !!

Chloramine is a replacement for chlorine,( which has been used for years) which degrades in sunlight and evaporates.
It has nothing to do with copper plumbing.
More false logic.
You shouldn't drink tap water because it's filled with dissolved solids and chemicals to kill water borne bacteria.

Copper water lines have been the industry standard for decades, and they are perfectly safe.
To a plumber, this should be common knowledge.

You copper atomizer cap is safe to use.
So is brass.

Ignore uneducated people that say otherwise.

I own a copper TOBH. The atty has worked well for me. I pair it often with my copper 4Nine clone. It does patina quickly and the inner side of my atty is patina'd as well. Copper can be toxic, but it needs to be heated much higher than what your coils can do. So I'm not too worried about the toxicity of my copper TOBH. However, I do have to say that if I don't run my atty through an ultrasonic cleaner between uses, it does effect the taste of my juice. And it's not a pleasant taste.

So enjoy the copper TOBH, but word to the wise, invest in an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and run your copper atty through a solution of diluted alcohol (like vodka, NOT rubbing).

Or you could just wash it when it gets dirty.
I have never had a taste issue with copper or brass caps, but I clean them regularly, like one should.
My vapelyfe hybrid has a copper center post.
No issues at all.

Just adding this here- and not trying to turn this into an authentic vs clone derail, but the authentic TOBH v2.5 (not sure if previous authentic models had this, or if yours is auth or clone) has a copper outer for the looks though the inside of the cap is sleeved with stainless. I know the clone TOBH (not v2.5) I bought which was brass, did not have a sleeve. Guess the manufacturer did this to avoid the taste ordeal. :)

I love washing my stuff, almost on an OCD basis. Even if it is the above sleeved cap I mentioned. Every cotton change (or sometimes juice change though same cotton) it gets swabbed down with Q-tips.

I worked at a copper smelter for years. You really do not want to know what we put in the converters and furnaces, officially and unofficially.

Really?
More anecdotal comments that have nothing at all to with using a copper atomizer cap

Are you saying using copper atomizer caps will cause you harm?
Because that is an incredibly uneducated statement that gets replayed all over these forums.
People who are not intelligent enough to actually use common sense ( or do research) keep this ignorance going.

A mind truly is a terrible thing to waste.

My MOD has only the Logo on it, of the Smok-e Mountain, it looks cleaner and more elegant that way I think.

I have a Vanilla in 18350 and love it. It's my go to mod when I'm out and about. It's got an nice patina on it now and the color reminds me of distressed brown leather. Very cool. The only issue that I have had with it is the screw for the switch needs to be tightened every now and again or the whole thing becomes wobbly. Not really an issue as long as you clean your contacts regularly. The action on the switch is very smooth and the throw is short. Not as short as some of my other mods, but still.
