Looks to have an internal battery, not replaceable 18650s. If you're good with that limitation it appears to be a nice mod, quite similar to the alien but with a more "swoopy" design. I have a thing about non-replaceable batteries these days with the uncertainty of the future due to regulation, and prefer to avoid anything that will become a paperweight when the battery no longer can hold a charge. But for the looks and price it can still be a good deal. I wonder what the US pricing will be like.

I thought "Alien" when I saw it, too! The screen is bigger but it has that same classy look with the pretty border. I don't mind mods with internal batteries as long as they hold a charge, and most of them are pretty good at that these days. I try to mix them up so I don't always have to buy batteries when I get a new mod. It gets expensive. :D I haven't seen any advertising from the US distributors yet but I'm sure that's just around the corner. Hopefully there's a review up somewhere shortly. I would love to know more about how it handles.

I figure it's got to be the same or just about the same board. That would explain why they used one with balanced charging. If they sell this with an internal Lipo, balance charging is a safety requirement. Looks like they're going for some real mileage on this setup as they also have the AL85, a single 18650 to 85W with the same design as a Pico, even with the battery cap, except they left room for a 25 mm tank on top, which is an improvement from the 23 mm Pico limitation.

My only internal battery issue is down the road if hardware really does become difficult to get in the US, I hate ending up with a brick. But there are advantages to it as well, and it looks like the form factor was dressed up by not dealing with rigid batteries.

Ahh, so this one is along the same line as the AL85 but with an internal battery. Now I get it! That's pretty cool, actually. It's always nice to have options. :D

I know this thread is a couple months old, but i been looking into this mod. It seems like they have another set up for it as well. Instead of the tfv8 big baby tank, its got the new spirals plus. Also, instead of internal battery, it has a ireplaceable battery. Im not 100% sure, but a couple sites i seen it on said replaceable, but only with the spirals plus tank.

When looking at the specs, i dont set the rba in the g150 kit, but when just buying the tank it does. Seems like most sites dont have it yet so its pre-order or out of stock. Ive only been able to find it in stock on sites from china.

Id love to get this kit with the spirals plus if it does come with the rba and replaceable battery. Its kinda odd that the kit with the spirals plus tank it comes with replaceable bats but may not have the rba as just the tank does, and the kit with tfv8 big baby comes with internal bat. Im not 100% sure this is 100% accurate, but it appears that way on some sites.

Hmm, I see what you mean! I haven't heard of a replaceable battery version of the G150, but I will see what I can find out. If there is a kit on the horizon, I will also find out if the Spirals tank will include the RBA. That would be kinda awesome, lol!

Ya, if you buy just the spirals plus tank alone, it comes with the rba. This is one of the sites i found the g150 kits with replaceable bats with the spirals plus tank, but says the coils arent buildable so i dont think it comes with the rbab which is a huge bummer lol.

I see what you mean! That's weird. I know a lot of brands are putting together kits with their different products, but why have one without the RBA? And I'm definitely confused about it being a replaceable battery mod! I hope that's true. That would really broaden the customer base for this mod. A whole lot of people prefer the replaceable battery mods. To have both kinds would be great!

Ya its weird how some of these are listed differently. I think that site that lists it as interchangeable batteries is wrong though. Doesnt seem like there is a replaceable battery set up for the mod. It would be really awesome if they did, and i would def get it if it did, but doesnt seem like thats the case lol. I think im going to buy my buddies set up he isnt using anymore, a 200w snow wolf with the tfv4 tank.

I have the smok osub plus 80w and the 40w vaporesso target mini, both which are internal battery, both which will most likely be my last internal battery mods. Not that i have any problems with them or dont like them, they are great mods, but they are guaranteed to eventually stop working since no battery last forever.

Once the warranty is up on the mods, i will most likely take them apart and modify them to use interchangeable batteries. Looks like it will be pretty easy in a video review i seen where the guy took the mod apart. Looks like the batteries are just taped together with connections on the battery ends. Should be fairly simple to do.

My luck if i was to do it before the warranty was up something would happen after the modification but before the warranty was up thus making it void. If i do wait, nothing will happen until after the warranty is up lol.

Wow, you are a much braver soul than I! I can't even imagine modifying my gear like that. I have been very fortunate with my internal battery mods. The only one that quit on me was the iStick 50w, and they were known for that. I actually got a good 18 months or more (probably closer to 2 years) before it died. I still have my original 600 mAh little Egos that started my vaping journey in 2012. I don't use them, of course, but I like to look at them every so often and think, "Ahh, the bad old days." :D It's incredible to me how far vaping has come in such a short time. Although I would never even try to attempt modifying my gear in a major way I have learned a TON about batteries, circuitry, Ohms, mAh, voltage, amperage... All that stuff was Greek to me when I first started vaping. I love reading about how people have hacked their gear and made it their own. I think you are very smart to wait until the warranty is up, but it sounds like you know exactly what you want and you are willing to go for it. Kudos to you for that! :)

I have asked around about the G150 coming out with a replaceable battery option and so far no one seems to know for sure what SMOK is doing with that, so it could go either way. Of course they could always release a different mod with the same features as the G150 but with dual 18650s and call it something completely different. You just never know what's next in this industry! :)

Lol ya im a wicked tinkerer haha. I love messing around with things. I cant think of anything i took apart n put back together and it didnt work afterwards. Ive been ripping cars apart and putting them back together for awhile now as well. Projects keep me out of trouble...kinda lol.
If it looked like it was too much involved in changing the osub to use replaceable batteries, i wouldn't attempt it, but it just looks real easy haha. Ill def do more research before i actually do it, but i dont see it being a problem, yet. I got it...hmmm... prob around January maybe? So i still got awhile to go before its out of warranty. Im actually quite surprised that your's have lasted so long. I have no idea what the life expectancy is on internal battery mods tho. I just look it like anything else that uses rechargeable batteries, cell phones, my cornwell drop light which didnt last long before it stopped turning on, i thought it was a problem with the switch since it seemed the switch was acting up, especially when the charge got low, so i replaced the switch and the damn thing wont turn on. Seems like the internal battery crapped out, and i never really charged it that many times. The battery lasted a really long time between charges. Now it seems it wont take a charge or something. Only a couple years old, maybe 10 charges, and it no longer works. Was pretty expensive led drop/work light too. So between cell phones, the light, cordless tools, and various other battery powered things that seem to loose their battery life and not last long between charges and not taking or holding a charge after within a year or two, i didnt expect these internal battery mods to last that long.

I really hope smok does release the g150 and spirals plus kit with interchangeable batteries, ill be all ovef that kit lol. Thats the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger on it. Aside from the 200w snow wolf i may buy off a friend, my next mod will be a mech. I was looking at those diy mech mod kits, if they had cooler cases, id prob get one of those. Ive been catching myself looking at things like, "hmmmmm....can i turn that into a mod?" lol. Im more into box mods than tube mods.
