Hi,

(I'm from England, UK)

I've recently bought a Smok G150 but found it hard to find the info I require from Smok (I've never received a reply) or the net, feels like I'm the only one with a G150!

Basically I'd like to know where to buy the replacement coil (four cotton holes) or something as good (its much better than the original coil the item came with).

Also, I'd like to either but a bigger tank or fatter glass that will fit the existing tank as I'm going through juice like a bodybuilder.

Would really appreciate your help guys,

Thanks.

That's a TFV8 Big Baby tank that comes with the SMOK G150 kit. The standard version has a 5 ml tank, and you probably won't find many tanks with a larger capacity. The EU version has a 2 ml tank. Sounds like you have the EU version and just need to carry a bottle of juice around with you for refills. The 5ml version is illegal in the UK.

I'm not familiar with the tank (I'm not a fan of SMOK), but from what I could find it uses the SMOK V8 Baby Q2 Core and the V8 Baby M2 coils.

Since I'm from the other side of the pond, I don't know where you can easily find those coils. If you get in a fix, you could try Fast Tech. Make sure the description says "authentic".

The Q2 Baby coils are the ones I used in my Beast tanks before going to rebuildables. They come in 0.4 and 0.6 Ohm resistance. They're better suited for wattages that don't drink juice like the 0.15 Ohm coils. The flavor is better, too.

Smok coils are not well regarded in terms of quality control. I routinely had to inspect each one for protruding wires at the base and misaligned base components. When they work, they work great. When they don't they're usually a mess.

Coastal Cowboy:

The Smok is good for a week then the coil becomes unusable. I cleaned it out with water thoroughly, dried it and it looked ok but within hours it had no flavour and so I had to replace it with the quadruple coil additional coil which is much better, but we'll see how long that lasts.

Leaving the original coil in vodka overnight and will clean tomorrow. I didn't realise vapes required this much maintenance, but its better than smoking by a thousand miles. It's either this or just not no vaping/smoking at all.

Whenever I leave the house, I carry my setup, a spare charged battery in a plastic battery case, and a bottle of juice. It's become second nature to me.

I'm just used to carrying my phone with credit cards inside the case and my keys so any additions get on my nerves. At least at work I can leave the bottle in my work bag.

Why is life so hard lol.

Smok coils last a week, two at most. And its not really the coils as much as the cotton wicking but since these come as a premade package, it is what it is. But then, when it comes to my rebuildables, id love to get 2 weeks out of the wicking. Four or five days and im changing cotton. Dry burn the gunk and rewick. I read someting on the web about rewicking and even making new coils for smok coil heads but i havent tried it. I looks like it might work but could prove to be a pain. I may, just to see if its possible, try this sometime.

The first guy I ever met who owned a vape had a mod (my boss) and all he did all day was tinker with it, pulling wire and wool out with pliers and meticulously adjusting it. I doubt I'll ever get to that level, I like life to be simple. Even changing the atomiser is hard work for me, wouldn't be so bad but I end up with oil on my hands or the damn thing won't open or won't close properly (I even shattered the glass in my first week by tightening it too hard!).

For now this is absolutely the limit when it comes to adjustments for me!

Once you get the hang of it, you wont be satisfied with drop-in coils, lol. The flavor is adequate and smok coils do produce massive cloudage but some day in the future, you'll want to tinker. Building and installing coils isnt really all that hard and the benefits are extremely satisfying. You'll get much better flavor and comparable clouds and doing it yourself brings a feeling of accomplishment. Paper towels and qtips will become your friends as well. But for now, enjoy what you're already using.

If you vape long enough, youll probably want more from it eventually. Just sayin, lol.

I started out with a Tecc Curve (tiny little thing that ran out of battery power in hours and produced barely any vapour) and had to go mod to get a decent puff. From the way the atomisers are becoming unuseable within days I think you're right.

Thanks, glad to be here.

'Squonking'?? Just looked it up, thought I'd seen everything (well, I haven't seen a man eat his own head - 'Team America' reference). Anyone have a preference on the two? Squonking and Vaping?
