The smok nord 2 kit 40w is the evolution of the smok nord V1.
This new v2 version has an integrated 1500 mAh battery, adopts the 0.69-inch OLED display, the internal advanced chipset that allows you to deliver a maximum power of 40 W, its maximum charging speed now reaches 1.2A, the interface displays the percentage of battery charge and the estimated time for this operation as well as clearly showing other data during vaping. The kit includes two new cartridges (RPM and Nord), the RPM cartridge is compatible with all RPM coils, therefore also with Smok's RBA, the Nord Pod is instead compatible with all Smok Nord coils.

Below in the image we can compare its main features with those of the V1 version.

The Smok Nord 2 kit arrives in a cardboard package with the image of the pod on the front, some main features and the wording 7-color resin nord 2 kit, on the back side the contents and warnings are indicated, finally the various logos & brands.

On the side we find the scratch and check and the holographic symbol of Smok, on the opposite side we can read the address of the manufacturer in addition to the email and their website.

The main differences between the RPM and Nord cartridges are basically that the former (RPM) are more suitable for vaping in Flavor and host larger and better performance coils, while the latter (Nord) are more devoted to vaping MTL, MTL / Flavor .

The RBA della Nord v2 40W is the same that we can install on the RPM cartridges of the Fetch Mini, Fetch Pro, RPM40W and RPM80W

In the first image we see the inside of the battery with the 2 pins that will combine with the cartridge.
The bottom of the mod shows the micro usb charging socket and the name of the Smok chip (IQ-N-CHIP)

The front side houses the Fire button (equipped with a white LED light)
- when the battery is discharged the led flashes 15 times (Battery Low)
- during switching off / on the LED flashes 3 times GoodBye)
- if the resistance is lower than 0.3Ω the led flashes 4 times (Ohms to Low)
- if the resistance is equal to or greater than 3.0Ω, the LED flashes 4 times (Ohms to High)
- if the cartridge is not present on the battery, the LED flashes 4 times (No Atomizer)
- if the battery is short, the led flashes 5 times (Atomizer Short)
- if the shot exceeds 8 seconds the LED flashes 5 times (Time Over)

With the display off, the profile of Nord2 is identical on both sides, at the top you can see the air-flows (fixed)

How Smok Nord v2 works

Five clicks to turn the mod on / off, the 0.69 "display shows: the wattage, the Ohm of the coil, the Volts, the percentage of remaining battery charge and the number of Puff.

To access the adjustment of the W; you need to make 3 quick clicks on the Fire button, we will immediately see the W flashing, with each subsequent click we will have an increase of 1W at a time, once we reach 40w we can go back with a single click starting from 1W, once you have found the ideal wattage you need to wait about 3s and the pod will deliver power to the number of w that we have chosen, the screen will also be automatically locked, preventing accidental changes to the previously set setting.

Nord2 Safety protections

During charging, the display shows the percentage of battery progress and the time left to complete the operation.

For Nord2 in total there are 9 different color options

Final thoughts

This new version of the North compared to dimensions (almost unchanged) is appreciated for some solutions that differentiate it from the "poor" relative v1

Although I am not particularly fond of Pods, I must admit that this new Nord2 kit is comfortable and has potential if used in Flavor, it will certainly be appreciated by those who, with the RBA base (available separately) will want to dedicate themselves to regenerations, without giving up an excellent level of safety protections and a good liquid capacity of its cartridge / tank.
