Agree.Used a 0.17 rcg coil from 3rd April till 20th April. Now I am on my sendcond 0.17 rcg coil.I can confirm vaping it at 40 watts is the best and longer lasting for this coil.
Smok coil has improved.I hope their qc can further improve.I bought two smok tank and mod recently,I am having confident everything will be well

I also read that some people drop their aegis x mod and the battery door cannot be fixed.Even 2019 best rugged mod has its issue.I am sticking with smok since I bought many of their mods and tanks

I just want to share what I have learned. If I use a samsung q30 "pink" battery, I get dry burn on the rgc coils above 40 watts. If I use a samsung 25r "green" battery, it works great up to 70 watts. Not sure why this is, but I have tried, and confirmed it multiple times.
Because of device, my fetch pro with fresh charge battery perform better too ...

I have the Smok RPM 80 Pro and touch wood havnt had any dry hits on either the RPM or RGC coils. Saying this I dont vape higher that 35w on either coil.
I too have the electric sound when I fire the pod/mod
I did buy the RBA coils for both but not built on them yet......need to get a big magnifier to see the fiddly things

Does anyone else using RPM80 pro and while firing you hear some electric/current sound,it’s a electric or current like sound
Just got one in May and I've been using it till today. So far I only find there is normal noise generated inside the pod when firing, because it's cotton coil. As for your description, I personally think it has defective PCB board if you are sure the noise is not from the pod. So I think you'd better to come back to the vape shop where you bought from, then change a good one.

I just received the Smok RPM80 kit today. Perfect Vape screwed up the order because I ordered the RPM80 Pro kit, but that's not my gripe at the moment. I was super hyped to try this new pod system out. It comes with 2 pods. One for RPM coils at .4 ohms and one for the RGC coils at .17 ohms. (I also bought a 5 pack of RGC coils to boot) I decided to try out the larger RGC coil first, it's the low ohm massive cloud coil that I originally bought the the mod for. I primed the coil and let it sit for about 15 minutes. The first hit was great at 50w nice clouds nice flavor. Second hit was starting to give a burnt taste. The third hit had me coughing up a lung. I went through 4 of the RGC coils today. Vaping low watts like 20-30 works fine with this .17 coil.... Really? as soon as I crank it up the burnt taste happens. I went from 70/30 juice to 50/50 juice not much difference in the performance.
For yucks and giggles I decided to try out the smaller RPM .4 coil. Didn't expect much being that the purpose of me buying the RPM80 was for the highly hyped RGC coilheads. I started at 25w. Nice flavor minimal clouds. As I raised the wattage on this coil I never got a burnt hit. Now I'm at 50w with the RPM .4 coil. It's performing like a champ. The RGC coils performed like a chump....
Maybe it was a bad run of RGC coils, I don't know. I'm looking to get a pack of the RPM coils now. I'm curious if anybody else has had issues with the RGC coils......
Would you recommend your new purchase? Im looking to buy the same one

I've been using RPM80 Pro with RGC coil for two months now, used up 8 coils so far, and only two of them have issues. Strangely they're one after another with my currently used one and the one before it, but that might be coincidental. I always vape them between 50-60 watts and replace them after 400 puffs or so as flavor becomes undesireable beyond that.

Currently I'm using a coil that went up to 0.19 ohm reading, from 0.17 obviously, after about 70-90 puffs. It produces spitbacks and flavor is greatly reduced. Before this I use a coil with "ohm too low" error just after 10-20 puffs and was totally unusable.

I might try one more coil before I move on to something else, maybe to RPM coil since not many people have any complaint on that.

Using a Smok RPM 80 Pro for the last 2 weeks, with the RGC .17 coil, switching off between 45 and 48 watts. No issues. The RPM with the .4 coil works, yet I use that one between 38 and 42 watts - seems more mtl though it still presents as a tight dl,
Just about 5 mls through the RPM, about 120 through the RGC. No problems with either yet, none have been changed.

Have had a Smok RPM80 for over a month. I am on my second RPM and RGC coil. I was initially MTL vaping Killer Custard 6% at 50 to 60 watts. I keep it full and tilt the device. I did notice a change in the flavor as time went on, but it wasnt enough to make me change the coil. I decided to try DTL on a new RPM coil (20 watts). More flavor, more enjoyable hits. I decided to try the RGC coil MTL at 20 watts and it works great! Battery lasts longer, device doesnt heat up, goes through juice faster. Im getting some unburnt juice from the RPM coil, but not from the RGC. Overall, I am super impressed with this device! I started with a Suroin Air Plus and the RPM80 destroys it in every way. I dont use NIC salt so I cant say for that.

I keep the tank stopper open so it doesnt vapor lock. If its closed and you are hitting it a lot, it creates a suction, then thats when I noticed a flavor change. I just keep it open now.

Now for the Con comments... The coils. Same juice, different flavor in every coil. Bizzare, but true. Second, ALWAYS test fire new coils away from your mouth / face. The first RGC replacement coil produced fire (almost like a butane torch). Needless to say, that wasnt a pleasant experience.

All in all, I am super impressed and very satisfied with this device!
