I've been using smok Stick M17 pen for years. They usually cost me $18 each. However, they have been discontinued.

I would get a pack of 5 coils (0.6) for $8-$12 and "HEAVY" vape and a coil would last me 7-10 days on average. I would buy 2 pens at a time and they would last several months before they would no longer charge anymore.

I'm down to one pen still working and two coils. I can still get coils but pretty sure the pen is going to fail soon.

Has anyone been in the same situation and know of a good replacement? My main concern is finding something with a similar coil cost and how long they last.

I had a nord last year, but that's been discontinued. Smok does that every few months or so. The most cost effective coils are the ones you build yourself, however, and they even make rebuildables for The Smok pen style vapes, like the nord sticks, and the nord 2. Something with a replaceable battery would solve the obsolete In six months problem.

@RogerD, Freemax may do some things that may interest you.

Kits
Twister 30W Kit | Freemax - Taste the Clouds, Feel the Flavors!

Includes Fireluke 22 tank.

Twister 80W | Freemax - Taste the Clouds, Feel the Flavors!

Includes Fireluke 2 tank.

Freemax Maxus 100W Kit With Fireluke 3 Tank

Includes Fireluke 3 tank.

All those kits use 510 connectors, so the tanks can be used with pretty much any mod.

External or replaceable batteries may be worth considering as well if you're going to be vaping for the foreseeable future, as replacing a battery or two is much cheaper than buying a new kit or mod.

But you'll need a charger as well, as very little is known about the charging circuit on most mods. So you should only really charge your batteries with a mod in an emergency and you don't have any other option.

And chargers don't need to be expensive at all, it may well be worth asking the forum for the best budget one available if you decide to go that way.

But there's lots more interesting options available further, such as Squonking which @HigherStateD and I do.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's hard to rely on a specific model of vape gear. Very few stay on the market more than a year or 2. That's why some vapers, when they find what they like, they just hoard whatever they can afford to hoard.

If you live in the USA, your best bet is to get any mod you can afford that has a good reputation and get into rebuildable atomizers.
