I've been using the Smok TFV8 tanks with SS coils and RBA decks for years. They were great on flavor and the SS coils could be cleaned by burning. The last time I went to burn off the coils I got a dark colored coil instead of the silver metallic color. I decided to put in newly made coils, SS Clapton, and found I could not get the right resistance, the vaporizer ( Smok G-Priv) would say the resistance was to high or to low. I began experimenting using a Coil Master tester for measuring resistance and using the bottom portion of the tank with the RBA deck I tried to measure resistance. I got resistance all over the place so it was unreliable. I connected a standard .47 ohm resistor between the tester ground and positive and got a reading of .47 ohms. When I put the resistor in the RBA deck I got about twice that reading so it looks like the bottom portion of the tank no longer has good connections. Right now I'm using the Smok with a Smok Cloud Beast tank, it went right in with out problems and has been working fine.
I will mention that I had tried some new e liquid I had bought before this problem came up, I've always made the e liquid in the past. I hate to loose these tow tanks but no idea on how to fix them.

A little more detail into what was happening. With the Smok vaporizer and the orange tank (TFV8), some normal vaping where the current was about 11 amps but also some with a current of less than 1 amp producing no vapor. Seems there has to be a high resistance in the circuit. I cleaned the post holes and replaced the screws which did not help. Using the Cloud Beast tank Removed any problems so at least it is not the vaporizer circuit board or the switch. This moves the problem to the bottom to the tank, using I=E/R for only 1 amp to flow I have 8 ohms of resistance.

Coil Master tester with no coil I get a reading of ---0. Since I have nothing left to loose I took a car battery and resistance wire to put about 20 amps through the bottom piece and RBA hoping it would clean or weld parts together. I don't think it did anything since I'm getting the same readings with the .47 ohm resistor in the RBA, about 60 to 70 ohms. The good tanks are being used but I wonder what they would read.

Sounds like something is gunked up or misaligned or busted somewhere. That resistance sounds high to me.
