Hello

I have two mods and two tanks, I have filled with exactly the same liquid, and left on the table, the Thorvap tank has kept all the liquid in, the Smok Micro TFv4 tank has leaked almost all the liquid out. Both mods upright on the table and not used and the air gaps open on both.

The only difference I can imagine is the tightness of the cotton in the coil, maybe the Thorvap has a very tight cotton on its coil, whereas the Micro TFv4's coil (the SS one) is looser cotton and thus leaks.

Unless anyone knows different?

Did you close the airflow while filling it?
I've heard some people say that it really can make a difference.

Also some coils can just not take lighter liquids i.e. Liquids with less vg and more pg.

One more thing that can affect it is... The factory coil in some cases can be defective and it actually happens more than you'd think.

40w could be a little too high depending on the resistance of the coils. Could you mention that too please?
It can cause flooding and the liquid in tfv4 can leak through the air vents. Same happened with my tfv8.
Also, as i mentioned before. Did you close that air flow before filling it? People say it matters a lot in tfv tanks.

Fill in two tanks, one Thorvap the other Smok Micro TFv4, SS coils, 0.25R give or take. Pure VG, does not flow easily. Vape a bit at 40W-45W from both mods, with airvents open. Place both mods on the table, upright position for a few days. A few days later noticed the Smok Micro TFV4 is almost empty. On turning on its side it leaks on the table.

Concerning the TFV4 Micro:
Just close the airflow, then you should be fine. The juiceintakes on the Micro-coils are huge, so the liquid will seep through, if there's no pressure in the base.
But that's a problem of nearly all tanks with bottomairflow.
But to be honest, I'd never leave a filled tank just stand there for a longer period of time anyway. Even on topairflow tanks like the Engine or the Cubis, although they won't leak (Yay!), after enough time the deck will flood and cause horrendous spitback.

Many thanks. I am now using the normal TFV4 and as an experiment I filled it up with VG and closed the vents (which is not easy because there is no notch or click so that you know it is perfectly closed) and for a few days now it has not leaked, but when I start it , occasionally, it has this spitback you have mentioned. I am using a quadruple coil.

Having said that, the Thorvap tank does not leak or cause spitback with vents fully open.
