Sorry I can't post anywhere else, but every time I charge my smok m80 plus it goes into "high input" mode and won't work for several hours. Since it didn't come with a wall plug in I'm using the eleaf istick wall charger. What can I do to fix this problem? Its happened to 2 different smok m80s that I own.

I sounds like your charger is putting out the wrong current. You should contact the mfgr and find out what is wrong. If you are puttign too much current into the battery during charging, you will overheat it ad shorten its lifespan, and could cause it to meltdown.
Problem is they do not have a US number. I'm going to have to dig around and find all my wall chargers and use the least powerful
Do you still have the box and instruction booklet? Somewhere it should say "use ONLY (certain charger)".
Yeah I have it and my Samsung charger and laptop will work with it so I will use those. But only problem now is getting it out of high input mode. The last one did it on its own in about 12 hours. Do you think this one should do the same or do you think it's done for?
I'm not very familiar with regulated mods. I use unregulated mech mods because I get frustrated easily with problems like the one you are having now. Lol! There should be some way to power down and reset the circuitry in the mod. Does it use 18650 batteries or is it a sealed unit?
It is sealed, and like the previous m80 the reset button doesn't fix the problem. It's almost like the battery has TOO MUCH juice, so I'm hoping leaving it on will drain it down slowly and start working again like the other one.
Could be. If it is over-charged leaving it on should help run it down, but the led display uses VERY little power. You may have to wait a while. Sorry I can't be more help. I looked up that mod and it looks like a nice one. I hope you get it working agai.
I know the M80+ has touted that it is VERY fast at charging... I've partially charged it with a 1.8A single charger (blackberry one to be specific) with no issues. Try using a USB cable on your laptop from now on, or use a wall charger with an output ranging from 500mAh - 800mAh just to be safe. I know some Samsung Chargers support the Fast-Charge found on some newer phones, and the output can sometimes be 2.1A which I wouldn't trust with the M80+ (or my iStick for that matter).

Have you pressed the reset button?
If so, that is all you can do, the charging is controlled by the 'chip' there isn't anything user serviceable to fix it. If it is over charging the battery that could be dangerous.

I've never had that error before, I'd say let it get out of that mode, then try it with a low output charger, and see if it happens again. If it does, then I would RMA it to wherever you got it from or ask for a refund.
Sucks so many people are having issues with the M80+
Sorry I can't help. I own one myself but i've never heard of" high input mode " I'm just following in case I ever have this problem
I use a .85 Amp charger. When you used the high amp charger, it caused the circuit board/batteries to go into overcharged protect mode. Best thing you can do is. Keep trying to reset the device every half hour.
I have the same problem now and was wondering wether leaving the device for a while worked for you? Or anyone for that matter?
Yes leaving it for a day or two should work. It worked for me, but after a ton of other issues I've had with the M80 I upgrades to the ipv4 100 watt and have had an amazing experience with it.
