Hey Rusty *wink wink wink *

If you do maybe you could be our "quit banner" savior
& make one we could all use ????

Maybe an ECF official one ??
surely there is a way for ECF to host one...

this is driving me crazy !!!
I have gone round & round w/this silly problem...
I agree looks like the one I was using is gone,
so I have been checking out others &
none of them will show for me either ????
I prefer the dark background too ......hmmmmm damn

I jus checked white background & nope still no banners .........

jmanning made a most excellent signature generator last year but I think he and I are the only ones using it.

You need to provide a URL to your own 400 X 65 image (PhotoBucket works well) and plug in the details but since it calculates Tar and CO avoided along with the basic info it's probably the most comprehensive sig-generator out there.

You can find the details of most cigarette contents at Erowid Tobacco Vault : Info on Nicotine Content of Cigarette Brands

Could be... Hosting's not an issue; I'll just stand up another VM at Rackspace to house this. If it becomes a de-facto "official" ECF banner, that'd be very sweet.

Thing is, I'm pretty sure that writing one from scratch isn't the best approach. There are numerous examples of "prior art" around that I could build on; No point in reinventing this particular wheel. I'm poking around to find it, but if someone can give me a pointer to source code I could use (ideally GPL), I'd be eternally grateful.

This is "only" the second time my quit-counter has disappeared, but something needs to be done. It's like that old saw - "You want something done, do it yourself." Ha.

well scott ....thanks!!

& I thought I had it figured out but i get the following error .........

The following errors occurred with your submission
Your signature contains too many lines and must be shortened. You may only have up to 3 line(s). Long text may have been implicitly wrapped, causing it to be counted as multiple lines.

& that is even after dropping the rest of my sig & just using banner code .......
& yours looks longer then mine ....

???? Hmm off to see if I can figure this problem out ........

rusty I know nothing....
RE: source code ?? is that what you see when you click on "inspect element" ??

this is what I got to work so far ( or @ least the image of it)
still not quite right ... crap ! It will have to be tomorrows problem...

Now that you mention it Kelley, I had a problem getting it to work for at first for me too. I looked for the old thread and AngusATT posted a "fix" for most signature issues at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...en-uploading-signature-image.html#post2335871. I believe this resolved the display problem I was having.

The meat of the original discussion regarding jmanning's creation is here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...r-any-tally-tar-co-avoided-2.html#post2028350

It worked for me, hope it works for you!

Thanks so much Scott !!

I will have to go check it out ,when time & my household allows ...I think someone else was discussing how to use google to shorten links this last week or so, maybe in the vet threads ..?? Unsure where I saw that ??? but that may also help ???

So did you list the $$ spent on your glv's in your calculations ? :glare:

cuz it looks like you smoked half what I did but saved about the same amount...

and I listed the total amount that I have spent on e-cig related supplies .

@kelleymcm:
I think the figure in my sig includes a Yeti-C kit, and eGo kit, a Little Chuck, my first GLV (a pre-owned Mini), and various cartos & juices. When I plugged in my numbers I was pretty liberal with my "monthly costs" which are much lower than anticipated but every time I think about updating the numbers, Jay releases another must-have GLV so it kind of balances out in the long-term.

I want to update my background image so maybe I'll recalculate the numbers when I get around to the image. Or not. LOL
