Smoke TCT Anemic Vape

After watching a couple of reviews for the smok TCT, I decided to buy one for the convenience of not having to drip while on the go or around my toddler.

Long story short, it's a major let down. I'm not getting the clouds that reviewers got. It's actually a very anemic vape with little to no flavor. The only way to get a semi decent vape is to set my TC to 490-500°F.

Has anyone had a similar experience, or can anyone offer some insight? I've already changed the coil head that came with it just in case it was DOA with no luck.

TIA!

It's really annoying me that "Smok" is spelled wrong in the thread title. Lol. >:|
They misspell things alot lol I have a VCT Mega thats spelled Mage. I ain't even mad, Mage is much more badass then Mega :thumb:. But I had a pack of GCT coils and they were utter garbage. However I'm digging the Atlantis nickel coils and had no need to go above 430° on a DNA device.

I just got my SMOK TCT in yesterday and tried it for the first time today, running on a Vapor Shark rDNA40. I set the temperature to 500 degrees and the wattage to 40. It produces a very good vape - good cloud and the flavor is good as well. In looking at the temp reading, I probably don't even have to set the temp that high as it probably gets to only about 440 max. I also closed off the airflow to only a small opening. I will try it on some other juices later in the week, but so far I like it so far.

This, the key is airflow control. These tanks have quite large coils and potentially a lot of airflow, so you need to set the airflow to the power range.

Interesting. Once you try it on a lower temp, let me know how it goes for you. The only way I can get a decent vape is by putting it up to 500°.

Keeping the set temp higher than max actual temp controls the preheat function. Preheat kicks off 100 deg. below set temp. So if you set it to 440, preheat will kick out at 340 and the mod will start throttling back before 440 so it does not overshoot. If you set it to 500 preheat runs until 400 and the board does not throttle before 440.

I didnt notice much of a difference at 450. Still good.

What DNA device are you using? What PG/VG? What wattage?

And...if you are getting a good vape at 500, why is there concern? I wouldnt worry about the fact that your dripper runs at a lower temp.

I have a Vapor Flask, 80 to 90 VG, and I fluctuate around 32 watts.

My main concern was wondering if this is how all TC tanks run (since I'm accustomed to RDAs), or if I happened to get a bum tank since reviews were so great and reviewers were getting so much vapor.

If this is how all TC tanks run - or all TCT tanks specifically - then I don't mind having to turn up the temp. I haven't gotten any dry hits and from what I can tell the wick hasn't burned yet at 500°.

I am disappointed that my bf's Atlantis V2 performs so much better. (I have a bit of a competitive streak. Lol.)
