Makes me glad I sold my nabi stock several years ago. This vaccine seemed kinda cool in concept, but doomed to failure. Any smoker should have been able to tell them it wouldn't work. I'd still take it before I touched Chantix.

My fear is that it WOULD work as advertised, by making it impossible for nicotine to bind to my nicotinic receptors. Personallly, I need the effects that are created when nicotine does bind to my receptors: increased alertness, improved ability to stay on task and focus, improvement in neurochemical imbalances that cause depression and anxiety, relaxing the skeletal muscles, etc.

For me, taking this vaccine would be like a diabetic taking a vaccine that would create antibodies to prevent insulin from being used in his/her body.

I know it wouldn't work for me. It's missing the most important part...hand to mouth addiction control. Good concept and I would try it before taking a suicide/murder drug.
