Smoktech Ace issues *sigh*

I'm new to mods & this is my first one (yay!) I got it yesterday & right off the bat I noticed issues :( talk about bummed. The thing spoiled me for all of 30 mins lol now I just can't stand my ego, but what I was noticing was the constant turning off not to mention getting really warm if I vaped anything higher than 3.3 volts & a "short" error message. I tried to ignore this & continue using the thing but my battery went from 4.2 volts to 2.6 out of nowhere I got terrified & just let it be for the rest of the night & instantly got online looking for answers. I've searched everywhere & cannot find any answers whatsoever so fast forward to today, I was playing with it trying to find a solution whilst to talking to my boyfriends friend whom owns a vape shop trying to get his take on it, took my nautilus off started firing it for about 10 mins over & over on about 5.5 volts as if I were chain vaping & boom.. no more "short" errors, turning off or getting hot so I'm assuming its the 510 connector, my question is, will stuffing an O ring down there work? It doesn't look like there's one on there or is my device just faulty? HELP.

I don't think it's my nautilus the same thing happened when I used my aspire vivi nova & my protank mini 2 all of those are working fine on my ego, although when I did use my nautilus on my ego for the first time I had to pry up the center pin a bit otherwise my other tanks wouldn't make connection. This doesn't happen anymore though so I doubt it's that.

I bought one to replace a SID that had a wonky fire button. I thought the price was too good to be true and I was right. On the second tank the button began to misfire, sometimes it would activate the menu, sometimes it would just turn itself off. While on a road trip the day after I got it the button issues became so aggravating, I removed the tube and battery and left the rest in the dumpster at a rest stop. I HATE junk!

Maybe someday soon someone will make a reliable and quality vv/vw mod, but it seems they all have the the disposable crap quality control issues.

Oh man, I JUST ordered an Ace.... I'd seen some very nice reviews on it so thought, hey, I like that and it will be a nice addition to my Vamo... grrrr, hope I get one without issues. *crosses fingers*. I know some people have issues with the Vamo too though, and mine is working just fine so far.

I feel your pain, but not all regulated devices out there are crap though. Two that come to mind are Provari and Semovar. Yes they are expensive, but both are quality devices with at least a one year warranty.

There are others coming to market too. Some manufacturers are now offering a one year warranty with their DNA box device.

Best advice I can give is drop into the APV forums and have a good look around. It'll give you a good idea as to what is out there and the experiences of other vapers with them.

Thanks for that, though I have been all over the apv forums hunting the elusive 100$ VW mod. I have an MVP2 which is passable and decent but 11 watts doesn't cut it sometimes, and it doesn't pocket very well. I have my original SID that is a year old and showing it's age. 2 other SIDS had the same issues as the ACE and have since been recycled. I have 4 itaste vv v3's that serve well for out and about. 4 or 5 hours at 10w is all I get before they need recharged, and there's the 11 watt issue And I caught a great deal last month on a Sigelei 20W for 65$ plus shipping that is filling the bill for at home. I like it very much, but it is a brick. I am hoping that it will last a while. Reading reviews for all the vamo's, zmax's, teslas, etc. just lead me to believe it's always gonna be a crap shoot. Put your money down and hope for the best.

*crosses fingers with you* I really do think I just need to pop an O ring in the 510 connector I saw a few videos on youtube where doing that helped the Vamo & the Sid. Doesn't look like there is an O ring on the Ace. :glare:

Hmm.. I've been kind of eyeing the ProVari too. Definitely gonna be my next purchase if I can't get my Ace working right!

Thanks, and I'll keep that fix in mind for the Ace and my Vamo too, just in case.
