SmokTech Bolt 18500/ Gun Metal

I purchased a bolt in 18500 size. I like the mod, looks good works good, but it's not looking so good now with an extender ring I just purchased.

Questions: Does anyone know if there is a color difference of Gun Metal between those sizes (18650 and 18500)? The color is clearly not the same, though advertised as being a Gun Metal extender ring.

Secondly, the extender ring I purchased does not fit flush with the top half of the mod and there is a gap about an 1/8". I am not too big on appearances so long as it doesn't affect performance, but unfortunately I do not have and 18650 battery as of yet to put in there. I was kinda hoping obviously for no gaps and a good color match. Is it normal to have that gap in the mod with the use of an extender ring?

Stopped at Home Depot today and picked up some O-Rings in the plumbing department. It took care of that gap in the BOLT with the extender in place. Gives it an overall better more finished look. Next I will have to get a pair of 18650s and give them a go. If the gap causes a reach problem with the battery, I have some round card spacers I can put on top of the spring, but hoping that won't be an issue. So far the 18500 batteries work very nice but I only bought a pair of 1100s. I would like to get a pair of 18650s in the 2000 mAh range.

I think it gave it a nice look with the different color and the o-ring does set off the look even more. This is the first time I seen one of these mods. Not bad IMO
