Smoktech Epipe Problem

This is my first time posting here.
Usually I can find answers to my questions using the forum search.
Since I cannot post in the technical issues I will post here.
I apologize if this is a faux pas.

Everytime I did a search for my problem I came back with the button top flip battery problem for my device.
I am not super electronically savvy I just use mods, thats as far as I go.

So anyway I was using my smoktech epipe with a kanger protank 2 last nite no problems, doot doot doot.
Then I notice it stop firing, and it feels a bit warm. I take out the battery (efest 18350 flat top) and notice my spring is collapsed.
I let it cool down pull the spring out reshape it and it works fine.
I switched to my silver bullet, as I am scared to use my epipe now.
Should I not use my device?
I assume I will have to replace the spring right?
Battery?
I have no idea what caused this as it has worked fine for the last 3 months or so.

Another question is I have noticed some wierd occurances with my epipe and my protanks.
My protank 1 doesnt work on my epipe but does on the silver bullet.
The protank 2 doesnt work on anything but my epipe, not even on my ego batteries.
I have narrowed it down to the screw in bases if I switch those the problems switch.
Any insight on this would be appreciated.

Probably just not putting in the right search terms.
