That's more or less what I was thinking, too. Just doesn't seem like a really good idea to me -- that's where the real business is going on, and shouldn't be "monkeyed with", because business like that can burn down your house.

So can the nylon battery pull cord.... So really a little bit of cotton and whatnot is not a huge deal. If the batteries vent, you'll have more to worry about than a few inches of cotton.

Additionally because it's "sealed" (loosely termed) if they were to vent (non explosively) chances of fire is low (needs oxygen) and if they did vent violently, exploding shrapnel and flaming bits of battery is more of a concern.

I've worked with electricity and (high drain and regular) batteries for over 14 years, this doesn't concern me in the slightest...

I just cut 4 wicks and then wrapped them in plastic wrap.

It has saved my .... a few days ago when i somehow got dirt inside my mutation. I just pulled the wicks, washed, pulsed dry and then rewicked. I was at work so no cotton available except my backup!

You know those pre-wicked coils you get with some RBA/RDA attys? I never use them, because I really don't care for silica anymore, but I found a good use for them -- in my "gone all day" bag, along with whatever juice I'm using/taking with, and some cut up paper towel squares for quick cleanups. Just in case the worst should happen and I really have to replace a coil, those pre-made ones would at least keep me vaping. :thumb: My husband's always got screwdrivers and such, for any tools I might need, and I really don't go off for long periods unless we're together. It's just a small zipper pouch bag, I got at the dollar store; about 4" x 7". Ladies would know it as a "makeup bag." :)

Well, Fasttech has the next day's gear posted, so it looks like they're finally awakening from their holiday. Now the waiting continues. :) I expect a backlog of questions, tech support, rushes to fulfill sales orders, and so on is in the works.

so the waiting continues. patience some more.

In the meantime, learn how to fight like a Jedi... safely :)

Mmmmm, berries and cream.

Looking at stuff at fastteck, what should I get...,
One of everything. That's usually what I put in my cart...

Until I look at my checkbook...

Then I take everything except the plastic $.52 drip tip (with free shipping) back out.

I was looking for a Rda/RBA

If I could find a good tank, I'd be happy!
For tanks, the UD Zephyrus is nice. So is the UD Goblin V2, Goblin Mini, and Goliath V2. Depends, of course, on what kind of vape you want...

For RDAs, I've heard nothing but good about the Velocity... I just don't have one yet. I am also eager to try the Evil Monk. Meanwhile, I just got the CloudCig Fishbone and it is awesome. Won a cloud comp with it last night! I'm also a fan of the Hobo V2 for flavor.

You just might've made me cave in and get a Zephyrus instead of Uwell Crown.
Fasttech finally got back to me and is promising that the Crown will ship in about seven days (was supposed to ship on 28/08/2015). Zephyrus on the other hand, is in stock and ready to be shipped...
Choices, choices, choices...

@Shawn Hoefer do you have Zephyrus tank yourself?
If ya do, what awg wire would you recommend for Zephyrus RBA deck? I recall someone in reviews saying that 26awg is about as large as you can manage to squeeze in there?

I do have the Zephyrus, and I likes it a lot! Hmmm... I'd have to tear it apart to confirm or deny... I've run about 4 tanks through on this build and can't remember, exactly, what the build is. I THINK it's a 2 mm id, 8 wrap micro of 26 gauge. It ohms out to .4. I also think I MIGHT be able to run 24... 26 was, as I recall, very easy. I've got it on my blue iStick 50 with the blue o-rings and a blue jade drip tip... all matchy-matchy. A nice, dense, warm vape around 46 watts.

I think it was a review by GrmmGreen, where he said that 26 is a tight fit already. Oh well, guess I'll just go with 26, since you're more or less confirming that it fits. Now just to decide weather to get Nichrome or Titanium... I'd get SS, but no idea when X Cube II will arrive and Koopor Mini hasn't received a firmware update yet, to work with SS in TC...

Don't have the XCUBE yet, either, but I'm liking Ti on my eVic VT... I got it from Unkamen on Etsy.

I have not used the Crown, but I've heard good. I can't recall, but I don't think it COMES with the rba. The Zephyrus does... loving these UD tanks...

Crown has some really good reviews, yes... RBA is not included, but available.
I own a grand total of 0 tanks at the moment, haha, but yes, I agree about UD being super nice. I've yet to see a tank from UD which doesn't look drop dead gorgeous. Also, I don't recall seeing a single bad review about UD tanks (checked Zephyrus, Goliath V2, Goblin Mini). Sure, some complain about leaking on Zeph, but if I understood correctly, it's all down to proper wicking. If done correctly, they won't leak...
