Going to Kansas next week for my Great Aunt's birthday, she will be 100 years old on the 4th.After that we will be heading up to South Dakota for a week. Mom has always wanted to see Mt Rushmore. How's the injuries today?

I'd have to say quite a bit better the pain isn't so intense and has leveled off but that may just be the meds.

They showed us on the news that your reserviors are being filled with plastic balls, 10's of thousands of them. The idea is the balls stop the sun from evaporating the water. The balls float around on the surface of the water and block the sun. I saw it on the tv.

Yah they are doing everything they can to "conserve" but they shoot down all the true fixes like desalinization plants and tunnels instead of open to the air canals.

It's just a politic power struggle here and it's sickening. That's one of the reasons I'm not a fan of it here. They don't think "how can we fix this for our citizens" they think "how can I make money off of this and gain power"

It's not that hard to see. I'm not saying there aren't people here in Cali that have power that don't try to do the right thing.... It's just all the corrupt officials that stonewall everything that make it a PITA.


They are always thinking of a new law to promote. Like the new Vape legislation they are trying to pass. Or the new airsoft laws that they did pass.


It's just dang disheartening...

I've been in Cali for 4 years and absolutely miss Alaska.

I'm not into celebrity endorsements in general, so if a company started using them to promote products I'd be unlikely to buy that product. Vape companies already have a bad habit of posting pictures of half naked women vaping to try to sell their stuff. I'm not sure what a pair of boobs right in my face with some smoke swirling around them or a mod stuck between them is supposed to tell me about their products, but I'm not interested in those companies either.

That just cracked me up! The bright lipstick with smoke swirling doesn't do it for me, either.

We vacationed in tybee a couple years ago and it was one of my favorite beach trip!!

My mom goes back there several times a year. I haven't been back since I lived there all those years ago. She says it's grown and nothing like it was when I lived there. I would love to go back one day, I spent my teen years vacationing there and moved there when I was 21 for a while. Back then they didn't even have a school on the island ( I don't know if they do now or not) so they bused the kids to school in Savannah. I moved because I didn't have a way to get my son to school and I didn't want him on a bus for that long of a trip being 5 years old.

Don't get me wrong, I was born in San Fran. I'm just a "transplant" Alaskan. I say I'm Alaskan not Californian... Because I don't like it here. But enough about my personal preferences....
