Alaska is the same way. I love it. No one bats an eye. Around here you'd just get shot by the police.

Once in Alaska (when I was 18) I got pulled over with a loaded (not chambered) AK-47 in the passenger seat (just got done at the shooting range. So I just threw it in the car)

The trooper didn't even blink... He just said "don't reach for yours and I won't reach for mine" and then smiled. We chuckled, he commented on my "nice AK" and told me to fix my blinker and sent me on my way.

I would never live through that down here. I'm paranoid to even go play airsoft!

One of my cats used to wake me up super early every morning by jumping on my face. As someone who doesn't get much sleep it was horrible. I tried shutting the bedroom door and everything and she would sit outside the door and scratch at it and meow this horrible meow like someone was killing her. That cat is now an outside cat.

My husband no longer really needs an alarm clock, since the cat started sleeping in his room. When she wants her breakfast, she has no snooze button.
