Finally! Got mine working ALMOST perfectly, just one more tweak to the wicks and ill be golden.i dont remember if it was this thread or another but someone asked if the cotton or SS really makes that much difference. Id have to say yes it does...once you get it set just right. Biggest difference being it, cheesecloth in my case till i get SS, wicks so much better and it gives a "warning" before a dry hit, the vapor gets dryer and loses flavor before it gives a burnt cotton taste...

Where can you get cheesecloth at?

I got mine at walmart. Heres how i set mine up.

Cut 2 pieces at a single layer at about 1"x2".

I also bought some needle threaders and needle nose tweezers to make threading the wick a lot easier.

This may be wierd but it works for me.

Take the cheese cloth pieces you cut out. Fold one in half length wise then carefully roll it up till it makes a loose wick, then twist the ends till it makes a tight wick. Do this for the other.

Take your wire and wrap it tightly around whatever you use to make coils with. I use the second smallest flat tip screw driver out of a jewelers set, you could also use a paper clip thats been straightened then bent in half, just make sure the loose ends are on opposite sides of the thing you are wrapping around.

you should have about a half inch on either side. Bend the trailing wire on each side in half then twist like a bread tie, a set of tweezers makes this a lot easier.

Connect the coil, with the thing you wrapped it around still in, to the posts, make sure the coil is in line with the wick holes. Then pull out the thing you wrapped the coil on.

push the needle threader through one side, slip a little of BOTH wicks through it and gently pull through. Finish pulling through till the wick is even, you may have to gently twist it between thumb and forefinger to coax it through. Seperate the two wicks ends. I use some needle nose tweezers next. Feed one wick through the wick holes.

Take an end of the remaining wick, cross it over the coil so it rests on top and feed through the wick hole, do the same for the other end. You may want to push it under the leg of coil before feeding it through the wick hole.

Gently pull the wick ends down till they are snug and then trim them so that they are even with the bottom of the SRT.

Put the tube completly on then fill with your juice, i use a needle for less mess. Place 1-2 drops directly on the wick thats resting on the coil.

So far ive had great success with this and no dry hits. If you make the wicks the size i wrote above it will look like its too thin and some juice will probably come up through the wick holes, this is ok, the wicks will expand in a bit.

Hopefully this is somewhat clear and doesnt insult anyones intelligence, i had to figure this out through trial and error so i figured it may help others at my experience level.

Im going to have to try this out. So basically your wrapping the top of the coil with each end of the wick. when connecting the coil do you just wrap the coil around the screw? How many wraps of coil do you put? Did you drill the wick holes bigger?

Yes to the wicks, then just tuck the tails into the wick holes.

Number of coils... I have a VV so i just wrap until i reach my doubled up ends generally ends up as a surprise since im using scrounged wire till i get my roll in the mail.

I didnt change the stock SRT at all, i wanted to see if i could get it too work before making any major changes.

I make a U in the end if the wire and hook it to the post then screw it down

As an update, i rewicked my wifes SRT exactly as i wrote down above, and then redid mine as well. One is at 2.3 phm the other is at 1.7 ohms mainly cause my wire is scrounged from different atties and cartos... Been using since last night, the one im not using has been laying on its side. These are now working fantastic, no exaggeration. Granted since this is kinda like a top coil i do vape it tilted, mainly as a stayover from the stardust and vivi nova. Ive had zero dry hits and am cranking a 1.7ohm, per my gripper, at 4.0 whereas before i was using it at 3v cause of dry and burnt hits.

Okay, after looking at the photos, I am SURE that this is just to much fiddling for me. I am not good with tedious small things and I would just end up with parts for the "save these I might be alble to use them" drawer...lol. I am glad they are working so well for you. I will continue to search and hope on the ravens.

If youre interested in getting one of these id have no problem if you want to mail it to me, ill set it up and send it back to you, if you include the juice ill make sure it works with that juice. It will have a cotton wick so no dry burning, just rinsing, blotting and retucking the wick tails back over the coil. I personally use a needle with a big syringe to washout the crud along with a pair tweezersto scrape the gunk off.

Thank you so much. I am meeting so many wonderful people on this forum. I am definitely leaning towards getting one and if I can't figure it out, I will get in touch. The above step by step actually helped me visualize the process and should be clearer when I have one in hand.

I had posted this in another thread  duh ....somedays ...

I've got my SRT vappin' pretty good now (straight out of the box NO MODDING, allVGjuice)...just took some patience, very low voltage & a lot if dripping ...now that it is wicking on it's own & if anything it has gotten TO AIRY  works pretty good on ego's ...rocket is too HOT for it still ....I think these like all other ce/wick things need to break in & it just takes time for the wicks to saturate . These especially due to the way the wick is in the "dry"...so to speak.

Since posting ...I have improved "Airy-ness " with 510/ego adapter use, tightened it up considerably ;)

so if you are having dry hit /not wicking issues ...
just drip 3-4 drips into tip & if it returns repeat ...
did this 3-4 times before it started wicking on it own....
I have added to the tank now a few times ,both ways ...

I LIKE Bad's way best, easier no syringe :D

You may want to make certain that the coil is level with the "floor" in that area... if one end or the other is raised, it may end up having a dry wick on the raised side that ends up vaping hot.

I hate to sound like a vinyl 45 skipping but i will.
These are simple like sliced bread vape like mad and taste is awesome.

For me personally they blow everything away hands down even the vision stone tank and the phoenix XL which i was fond of until i started vaping this one and making coils for em is a breeze.
Ok moving needle over on the 45 remember them days with the portable record player outdoors ?

hmmmm rd I do have one side that puddles more than the other, I will check for that.... I have been checking periodically for what exactly ???IDK (besides dry wick) but ....I have pushed coil down over air inlet ...while keeping it level & off floor at the same time ....I keep thinking it needs more wick @least in or around coil ??? still using as received....wicking OK still on egos ...I need to quit reading all the opinions & mods on this one ... at least while it is still working good .... B-4 I habitually "FIX IT"

one question tho...when I can't stand NOT fiddling with it anymore :D
& I wanna higher omh....can I achieve that with more wraps ??

Yeah. More wraps more resistance. Wraps are irrelevant really. It's the length.

As for ...
