Smoktech magneto floating pin melted

I got the smoktech magneto a few weeks ago and i am using a 3.7 V efest battery at around 8 to 10 amps with the nautilus tank. For the past week i noticed that the vapor production had diminished significantly. I started checking all my connections and i noticed the floating pin on the magneto seemed to me melted. My mod never got too hot so im not sure why this happened. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Sounds like it got hot enough to melt the cheap plastic they used. That's Smok Tech for ya.

Ya so far its been trial by error. Not too impressed with it. Probably gonna save up and spend money on something quality. Any suggestions?

I like big animals so I'd say the Panther, either original or clone works great. If you like magnetic buttons the Original Nzonic works great too, the clone not so much.

I was looking at the nzonic or a stingray. They are pretty pricy, but probably worth it. I know the clones are supposedly made from the exact same materials, but then why the $150 difference? Are the legit ones worth that much more just cuz its an original?

So, do you mean amps or watts? If you're at 8-10 amps that means you're running your Nautilus at 0.42-0.53 ohms.

Ya my bad im at 1.8 ohms. Newbie mistake, i meant watts and i just recalculated and its actually 7.6 watts and only 2 amps. Assuming i calculated it correctly which could also have screwed up lol.

That's more like it. Remember that your battery starts out at 4.2V, so amps and watts start out a bit higher. That should not have damaged your mod; something went wrong.

I have the magneto and run it as low as .19 ohms in a caterpillar RDA so far no sign of anything melting. If it were going to it surely would at that low an ohms. I do know its not that great a hitter compared to my other mods, I can tell the difference in how they hit. I have gotten the magneto fairly warm. The king clone I have has been pretty good, rarely ever gets warm and hits better then the magneto. The panzer I have is an authentic and hits the best, The panzer hits like a truck has never been warm and will probably always be my favorite mech. I found mine online on craigslist was still in unopened package with receipt from Philippine mods. I see several on there many folks are willing to ship it to you. I lucked out and found my in my home state.

I really appreciate all of your posts. Maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me. I swear it was hitting much better when I first got it and when i look at the pin it really looks like its been deformed a bit. Could just be my subconsious justifying my desire for a new toy. Either way id like more vapor production. Im looking at the copper nemesis clone by hcigar.
