It does work; but I would recommend modding it to aid wicking, yes.

That's why I have put on listing -

This is an advanced user piece, something for modders only.
It will require a certain level of mechanical skills and knowledge to able to use and rebuild properly.
One way I was thinking of, is this.

The holes seem a bit tight on the wick.
So try other wick; or maybe try this with the wick that comes with it -

The wick that comes with it is made up of 10 intertwined strands (easily separated).
Cut 2 or more strands from each side, above where it goes through the holes, to aid wicking.

Some more tips; here is a review submitted to the site...

Review by Nicholas -

First thing is if you are going to use this on a Provari or Lavatube you will need a 510 to ego adapter because the airflow will be completely blocked without one.
Then I would remove the coil and re wrap the coil as mine was not wrapped around the wick very well and tasted burnt all the time. After doing this it will work alot better.

Because i wanted to play, I tried a few different coil methods.
Pure ss 400.Tried this but because of the design it kinks the wick in two places and strugles to wick.
2mm fibreglass with 0.15 kanthal. This works great.
2mm fibreglass with oxidised 400 ss in the middle(coil part only) and 0.15 kanthal 1.8ohms. This was the best for me and vapes exellent so i will stick with this setup.

So like the description says this is not for beginners, but I think modders will enjoy playing with it and for £10.95 why not.
Oh one other thing is the drip tip is part of the top cap so you cannot change it but it looks and feels nice to use so not a problem for me.
