Very sorry to hear that :( These things need to be like fifty bucks.

Agreed, sorry to hear Random. I'm sure some of the leftover earlier versions will be going for close to $50 soon, particularly as the new zmax will be coming.

Random, just a thought...are you experiencing any juice leaks that may somehow be getting into your vmax? I had a close call the other night with just that situation but caught it in time. One of my phoenix bc's decided to dump as I was screwing it off and the juice started running right down a line heading to the power button. If it leaks through there or the led screen it might cause a problem.

Time to contact the vendor you got it from and get a new one. A good vendor will send you a new one free of charge.

Allready been in contact with the vendor ;)

They responded less than an hour after I emailed them (wasn't expecting that on a sunday)

They told me to send it back, and then they would send me a vmax V4 instead :)

Not sure if any juice got in it, but I don't think so (There didn't seem to be any juice anywhere on it)

The chip doesn't seem to have been effected either. Only thing that seem to have gone bad is the connector.

I can still navigate the menu, the display is still working, but as soon as I press fire, I just get 123,456,789 on the display

When I look inside it, the wires from the chip to the connector looks like they have melted (and the tube smells like burned plastic)

I received my Smok Titan tank from GV a couple days ago, it is 2.4 ohm. Seems to be an item that works good "out of box" but not on Vmax V1. At 3 volts all you could get was one good hit and after that just burnt. These have a ceramic cup inside the replaceable head tube and are considered not rebuildable. I removed everything in tube and using some stardust parts I did wick and coil exactly (coil connection wise) as you would do on star dust. I put the Stardust's silicone piece that goes between wick tube and mouth piece on the silicone sleeve that goes in tube under wick/coil as the tube on Titan is much larger. Also made slits for wick (3mm) larger, little ceramic cup is gone. Now on Vmax it vapes excellent with it's fat juicy wick/coil.
Also used cut down positive post from Stardust.

Just glad to hear your vendor is coming thru for you. It is indeed a hassle but here's hoping #3 is the charm. A properly functioning vmax is tough to give up; I'd miss mine terribly. That's why I will soon have 3 and when the older versions get to $50 I'll pick up a 4th as a spare :)

V1 update: Still works like a charm and I've put this thing through everything except a washing machine. Even the black finish still looks great except for the wear around where the battery cap makes contact on the body. Alas, as I predicted long ago however, the battery cap threads are becoming more and more stripped despite my best efforts to be careful and maintain them with lube. I think there are now only 2 threads holding the battery cap on. One day the threads will simply not catch rendering the device useless. It will be a shame as the rest of the unit is still 100% functional. Wondering if there is a way to fix this. Ideas?
