Well.....Just got my NEW version VMAX. Ihave to be honest, 1st off and 1st impression. What did they change with the voltage ? I seriously can't tell much difference at all. 3.0 ohm BOGE FUSION 801, Im at 3.5V and it's absolutely flawless. I guess tonight when I go to the bench and run them both thru the LeCroy 312-A Oscilloscope I'll see what they did different by the raw numbers. LeCroy don't lie...lol:p
Anyway, I'll try to get back on tonight after I'm done on the bench but if may take a couple hours for me to finish up so I may call it a night after that. You guys take care. ...............J

Just over 1 month for me and no issues to speak of. $80 shipped is a great buy; it's likely the pricing will normally settle near that number eventually. I mostly use Smoktech 6ml and 4ml DCT's with the ST 2.5ohm flanged / prepunched cartos. Also a generic 1.7ohm 306 atty for dripping and flavor testing (very warm). I'm happy with this setup although the tanks do need the occassional blowing out due to flooding but that's no big deal for me. It is in fact my 'workhorse' setup that I find quite satisfying. I'm surprised at how well the black finish is holding up actually. Apart from some very minor scuffing where the rim of the end cap makes contact my unit could still pass for brand new. It's a shame the end cap threads are so lame. I think it's safe to assume that no matter how much care you take with them they will eventually fail from normal use. Hopefully ST will make replacement end caps available for sale.

My end cap was really sloppy and bit enough when fully screwed on to stay on there. I was so annoyed with this and started to think of a way I could sort of stretch the end cap to widen the threads so it was biting tightly right at the start of the threads. I started looking in the shop to see how I could accomplish this and there it was looking me right in the face, my bench vice. Looking at the handle of the vice I noticed that there are round balls to keep the handle from falling through, those balls where just the perfect size to push the end cap onto and using a little force it stretched the end cap just enough to make the caps thread on perfectly, it would also solve the issue of the aw 18350 batts that are too big to fit the end cap. My cap now fits perfectly and has not given me any issues what so ever, a little noalox and she is basically buttery smooth now. I know this is not the best fix because you need to find a vice with the perfect handle to make it work but you guys must know someone with a vice and hopefully it will be the proper size. The vice handle was about 1/2" thick and it is a larger vice. Hope this helps someone!

I posted this in the new members forum, just in case you haven't seen it -

I like this but for those wondering the vmax v1 is nickel plated shinnyness under that black paint which imo is just a crap paint they used. Mine has all kinds of little chips from things like my keys hitting it in my pocket so I am about to go out and buy some spray can paint remover and I'm going to strip it. Chopper71 did this with the top and bottom can and it turns out great(can be seen on the new atom pics in the defcon mini thread), I believe the brand he used was"crown", the smok and vmax logos on the vmax is the finish under the paint if you guys are wondering what it looks like. My big question is though, will the nickel tarnish and can it be polished to a high gloss shine without burning through to the brass?? Guess I'm just going to have to try it and see.

Interesting. I'd actually like to see what one looks like with all the paint layers gone and just the actual brass material showing, perhaps polished. Any volunteers?

Crystal Clear has the VMAX with nice IMR's included for $95 bucks and free priority shipping, and you can add up to 2 extra sets for a nice discounted price on the batteries. The S.S. VMAX's should be here Monday or Tuesday and the Efest batteries.

I was sent a chart testing the E-fest 18350's and those batteries show to be pretty powerful. They tested only 2 batteries in this, the AW against the E-fest. Testing went all the way up to a 10 amp discharge. The raw numbers show it Extremely comparable to the AW if not almost equal. I think I just might post these charts after I do my own tests on these with my equipment and see if I get the same results.

Also he's found some Panasonic 18350's he's trying to get ahold of but 1st making sure and researching they ARE the CGR "HYBRID's" before he pulls the trigger.

Awwww screw it here's one of the charts I was sent, ""this is NOT MY TEST" data. This is at 2 amps :

OOOOk, nevermind, whats up with ecf, it wont let me add a image or insert. I push the button to insert and the page just blips for a milisecond. WHATS UP WITH THAT E C F ?? FIX YO STUFF !!!! I'll see what I can do to get this stuff posted for you all. Bare with me. J

I ordered my vmax yesterday from goodejuice.com. I got the silver because it resets to 3volts. I emailed them before i ordered and was told the black one they have in stock resets to 5volts. With the ecf coupon it's 89.00. I can't wait to give it a try.
Welcome to the VMAX Family Neeceann! I'll be sending you an INVITE to the VMAX ELITE! :D

Well I don't know if I want to attemp the whole tube just yet because of the button and screen not being removable, think the paint will be stuck in the crevices and it may screw up the plastic. Anyways for those wondering here is a picture of the top and bottom cap that I stripped last night...........boy there are some dirty words in this post....:p
