Lethalp, I was suggesting just try and rub the steel wool on the threaded areas and to take the spring out of the bottom cap and use the steal wool on the ends of the springs and in where the spring sits on the bottom cap. I would also wrap some wool around a pencil and tape it in place then insert it into the tube to hit the positive terminal as well. The idea here is to make sure there is no oxidization of any kind on all the key areas of contact. Also are you using flat top or nipple top batts, I only use nipple top and have heard of a lot of issue with flat top batts in this device.

Happy fathers day to all the dads!!!

Maybe I wasn't clear, let me try again, I am using the 18359 imrs from Carolina vapes. The bottom cap WILL screw all the way on with the batteries in the vmax.

However sometimes when I screw it all the way in it won't come on. Here is what happens, I take the batteries out, I get th new set and insert them one at w time positive end first, then I start to screw the bottom cap on. Before it is screwed all the way on, the lights come on and flash, then when I continue to screw the cap on it shuts off. So I back the cap back off to where the lights came on and leave it there. The bottom cap is not wiggling or anything just not tight.

Does that help?

Ok I have seen the steell wool idea again,

What do I do with the steel wool??

Ps, I see nothing wrong with it without batts, and nothing (accept my switch) makes any noise when I shake it.

Thank u so much for your patience with me ;) I never had brothers ...
Hey little sis, by any chance, did you purchase the EFESTS?

VAPNJ uses a 6 hole pattern, but he uses a DREMEL to make his holes! I use a 4 to 5 hole PUNCH PATTERN because I use the "TINY MITE" carto punch! We BOTH AGREE that there should be TWO holes at the BOTTOM and at LEAST ONE hole at the TOP! VAPNJ's 6 hole pattern is 2 bottom, middle, and top! My 4 to 5 hole PUNCH pattern is 2 bottom, 2 middle, and 1 at the top! The REASON for the holes at the TOP is so that the filler at the top is ALWAYS wet!

Freddie the 6 hole I do is more for the 510 XL BOGE. And all of my punches ONLY put 1 hole at the top and it should ALWAYS face you so when you lean your PV back to that 45 degree angle or so the top hole is ALWAYS covered in juice down to just below half a tank of juice, I refill then anyway. So...to clarify in words on the "801 fusion carto" for tanks... I do 2 holes at the bottom just above the bottom cap.....2 holes at the "halfway" mark between the 2 caps, "OPPOSITE" of the bottom holes location.......and 1 hole at the top facing whichever way you hold you PV preferably but try to make the single top hole on the same side as 1 of the 2 very bottom holes so from top to bottom all the holes are "STAGGERED" . This will allow juice to wick into the carto from EVERY angle possible keeping the filler wet from top to bottom never letting the coil have a dry moment no matter how you chain vape.
With the 510 cartos follow the same theory but having 6 holes due to the much denser filler material, but still keeping the single hole at the top right under the cap. Hope this helps make it clear, I hope to have a cad drawing done soon to post so people can have a 3-D visual aid to help further. Just been very busy to try and get it completed. Take care everyone.

I also do the 5 hole PUNCH Pattern on the STANDARD sized Fusions and still have the same Vape consistency as I would on the XL's!

The only 18350's I see at Carolina Vapes are flat tops--I've had problems with intermttent connection using flat tops. Perhaps a very thin magnet between them, or drop of solder on the positive pole, would help.

When I'm installing fresh batteries my display always flashes the 123 457 789 "error code" when the cap is about 2/3 of the way in, but it still works once the cap is on all the way, so I don't think that's indicative of a problem per se. Based on everything you've said, if you can ensure constant contact between the batteries (and many flat-tops will, just not all) I would suspect a problem with the electronics.

The VMax is very well made, especially for the price, but everything has the possibility of a less-than-perfect unit--otherwise there would be no need for warranties. Provaris, Darwins, even Ferraris have been known to have the occasional dud come off the line :(

It still sounds like a battery issue to me, but someone more knowledgable than I will have to help from here--good thing VapnJ is in the house :)

Oh MY GOSH.....I now know what your issue is....FORGET EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN SAID BY OTHERS UP TO THIS POINT !!!!! Your using the Efest "FLAT TOP" batteries with NO earth magnet spacer....right ? With those particular batteries they sometimes make contact and sometimes DON"T leaving your device in operable. YOU NEED TO GET 1 EARTH MAGNET TO PUT BETWEEN THE 2 BATTERIES. In preliminary tests I had the same exact thing happen. ! time I put them in...it works, twist them a certain way upon reinsertion ... and nothing. Your device is fine, your flat tops just are not making a solid contact. 100% of the time. Do you want me to send you a magnet ?

J

AWWWWW CRAPP!!!!!! I just noticed Freddie just posted the same thing above me.
SOOOOO .............Ahhh..........Yeah........ What he said.

Does anyone have issues with the ego adapters? If i use mine with the smok dual coil xl ego cartos or stardust it doesn't get any air flow throw the connector. Why don't these adapters have air holes? I have to use 2 -510 shorties so i can use these cartos on my vmax. It doesn't look as good when it has a gap at the bottom.

So wait, the efests Im getting from ccv with my vmax are gonna need a magnet? where do you get those?

They ARE included at CCV and don't worry about losing it, those things are hard to get off the battery, just stick in the charger with it on the battery and leave it on the positive terminal of the bottom battery, you'll be fine. Fresh batteries off the charger and order packed ready to go...hint hint,....cough cough, clear throat.....and welcome to the VMAX family in 2-3 days.

The stardust don't seem to work on knockoff ego's either. They were really ONLY designed for genuine Joytech ego's. Alot of connectors cut airflow completely.
