This looks incredibly cool (and obviously Smoketech's answer to the ProVari, although I wonder if it's comparable to v1 or v2). Sadly, my main interest is in the paint job! lol I'm interested in a brass unit, and the details say they're natively brass, but painted. I wonder if they could be had without the paint job?

Hey Nick,

If you should happen to get any in that got scraped or anything, would you mind posting what you can see under the paint job? I'd really like to verify whether it truly is brass underneath. It's a very tempting thought to maybe whip out some paint thinner on one of these bad boys.

Just to clarify a few things. The black VMAX's we have in stock are the ones that reset to 5V. Our Silver VMAX's reset to 3V. We were assured by our rep from Smok that the Black 5V reset VMAx's we have are an improved version from tne original batch. I have been vaping the Black 5V reset version and it is phenominal. Just note that when you change your batts, the default is 5V. The only difference between the two is that the Black ones reset to 5V. Other than that, the internals are up to par with the newer versions that reset to 3V. Performance and quality are guaranteed.

I have to chime in and say that the VMAX is a great device. The power of this thing is amazing and it has become my all-day vape. The finish is holding up well, too.

...Smoketech's answer to the ProVari, although I wonder if it's comparable to v1 or v2...

I'm assuming you are referring to the difference in amp limit between V1 and V2 Provaris. The VMAX is quite a bit better than either one in this respect. It is reported to have a 5amp limit, and I believe it. It will make LR cartos HOT if you want!

Yep. Your exactly right cyberwolf. LR attys are like rocket fuel on these things. Great units.

No doubt. Just don't burn them dry. I was apparently holding the button on while refilling a carto the other day and the VMAX was more than happy to just burn right through it!

The finish on mine is holding up great, too. Almost too well, because I am very curious as to exactly what is underneath the paint. I'd love to have the VMAX in Chrome, but polished steel or aluminum would be the next best thing!
