Not tamed, the option for a genuine voltage is a winner!
Everyone will be happy as you'll have to option for both types, accurate and "beast."

dirk, will the version 2 really have the option for accurate and beast voltages/wattages? is this available already? is this on the smok website? thanks!

Posted earlier in the thread - these are the first tests done on the V2;

It's starting to appear, should be with the US vendors within the next two weeks.
The button and board have also been upgraded according to the German test site.

Got my V2 today as well. First impressions: i'm very happy with the output of this device!!! WISH i had the means to measure the output, but it feels right to me...

The LED is awesome on this thing! i kinda wish my provari LEDs were this size. VERY good looking device!!! (SS version)

My only regret is that i didn't buy 2 or more of these things.

To those of you who waited to get one of these, NOW IS THE TIME!!! But make sure you get the 8 menu Version 2!

Very very early impressions-

1- Still fires after you've pressed the button (as in the screen is still let, etc. not just the carto sizzling), just not as long as the v1. Maybe .25 seconds.

2- Started testing with the 18650 in voltage mode with rms on with a 2.5ohm sc carto- 3v=2.97v, 4v=4.05v, 5v=5.07v, and 6v=5.88v
Without rms on- 3v=4.12v, 4v=4.88v, 5v=5.77v, 6v=6.73v

3- Threading is better on this version for the endcap than the previous version

4- the channels around the tube are fewer (8 this time), shorter (by about 2mm), and the edges on them weren't smoothed out properly. They are somewhat sharp.

Still can't compare the zmax to the Provari dwcraig sir. Electronics are much better than v1, but until it's been proven it can last longer than it's six month warranty, or survive the same abuse, well......

That's not to say it's not the best mod yet out of China, or a serious contender for being mentioned with the top USA made mods, but if it isn't as durable would cost more than one provari after 6 months if it has to be replaced.

Got it... directions are from a version one... not sure if RMS in on or off? Any Help?
I am listening for the DHL van as we speak. My version 2 is in route to my door! Own a version 1 but had to have the new one of coarse, especially since version one is a bit quirky! I will give you my opinion when it arrives!

Pretty much what I've been thinking.

The blurb on Intaste.de states that the V2 has a completely redesigned button and a revised PCB layout but the true test will come with prolonged usage over time. Everything so far sounds fantastic (except with the sharp grooves) I'm really hoping that the V2 doesn't have the same issues that have manifested in earlier Smok devices.

I'm still dying to get my hands on one of these.

Here is my opinion as I have a ProVari and a Zmax v1 and v2.. forget about the Zmax v1 it works ok if you do not pay attention to the displayed numeric values and go by taste.... I am going to use the same ejuice and carto at 3 ohms and set the Zmax v2 to 9 watts and set the voltage on my ProVari to 5.2 volts ( 9.02 watts ) and just see if there is a difference... both batteries are fresh off of the charger! The ProVari is still smoother with a slight less TH and has more flavor. But they are really close. IMO all devices are VW you just have to do the math and adjust your voltage. The Zmax just displays its power output and you can switch from a LR to SR carto without changing your power output. I like the Zmax v2... still not built very well compared to the ProVari but a big step up from Smok! And just to kill any hopes of ProVari working on a VW device.. I spoke with them yesteday... maybe someday but not anytime soon. If it is not broke why fix it? And the ProVari is a great device.
