Hi,
I am not having a good experience so far with my e-cigs. I bought the Smokestik starter kit and they taste like fruity perfume. So I ordered some juice from Viking Vapor and not sure if I did something wrong while trying to clean out (first time) the Smokstik flavor or filling the cartomizer (first time) but the Viking Vapor is so harsh It makes me cough. What can I do to get a good flavor, lots of Vap and a lite throat hit. And if someone can tell how to get the flavor out of the cartomizer I'd appreciate it, I can still taste Smokestik. I ran it under hot water and blew out the water and repeated that serval times than baked it in the oven for 45mins.

Thanks!!!:(

Yeah, I've had some perfumey e-juice before, too. Yuk!
I clean and refill my cartos as many times as I can before sending them to the trash. I usually nuke a bowl of water till it's boiling, take the water out and soak the cartos for 10-15 min.
Then I do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMBSm-lWWZ4
I repeat this process as many as 3-4 times. Most of the time this does the trick.

I've found that with some cartos, I can never seem to get rid of the previous e-juice flavor. Could be the difficulty you're having. Especially, if you consider that the Smokestik cartos were filled at the factory and the poly filling has probably been soaked with that flavoring for some time before they got to you. I suspect that Smokestik probably doesn't provide the greatest cartos with their starter kit.
Get some good blanks(I like litecigusa Premium Cartos) and try to keep the same flavor e-juices in the same cartos. For example; I have 2 or 3 that I use only for my straight menthol. I also have 2 or 3 that I have a menthol/peach mix in. I have a few others that I specifically use only for my menthol/strawberry e-juice. You get what I mean.
Anyway, cartos will only last for a few cleanings and it'll be time to trash them.
Good luck in your future vaping endeavors!

Sometimes perfume or flowery aroma means liquid needs steeping. Sometimes large amounts of flavoring can cause it according to one DIYer who tested various percents of some flavors. And for me sometimes its a particular vanilla or cream flavoring that just smells like baby powder or something to me (though that does fade over time).

When you clean a carto, I think you want to make sure it is dry before you reuse it. But some flavors will be hard to get out. And if you singe the stuffing in a carto I think that singed taste will stick around.

To get light TH with cartos I take smaller drag. I use manual batteries only so I have plenty of control over my hit and how much vapor I get. I recommend manual batteries. if you want to try a manual battery AzSmokeFree has white manuals and also the special USB to battery adapter the manuals need:
The Better Way To Smoke - Search Results

And as was said above, use juice with some VG in it. VG does lower flavor a bit but it also lowers TH and adds more visible vapor. I usually like 70pg/30vg and some people like 50/50. Some 100% VG juices may be too thick to flow well in cartos.

Yup. Tis true. VG/PG ratios, the vendor, the flavor itself, nic level, PV setup..all can contribute to a good or bad vape. As far as cartos go, my advice is to buy blanks and fill your own. Some vendors I've tried that have good stuff are vaporforlife, backwoodsbrew, vaporbomb, and gourmet vapor. At times, it's a hit-or-miss on flavors though. Just takes some patience and experimenting. You might also find some tobacco flavors favorable. I tried lots of fruits, coffees, liquors, and chocolates at first and though I still vape quite a few of these...I found that some of the tobaccos really hit the spot for me. Was weird since when I started to vape, I totally did not want to taste tobacco as I was trying to distance myself from analogs. Yet, after awhile I tried some and EUREKA! I'm diggin these flavors now...particularly the backwoodsbrew stuff. Might give them a try.
