A pleasant Tuesday AM to all whose eyes perceive these words.

..........

 :?: :nah:

Last month's electric use was 58% higher than the average of the last 10 Februarys.
(Or is that "Februaries"?) 58%!!!

I could account for a couple reasons for an increase... Oreo's house is "new", the
front anti-icing wire is "new". But I'm thinking they would not do THAT to electric
use. I've been unplugging BOTH anti-ice wires this year when not needed.

Gas was down 15% because this past February was 5.7 degrees warmer than the
average of the last 10.

Total bill was up 3%... so I'm not all that upset. But the electric remains a mystery.

Mine shot up from using the anti-icing wire on ramp off the deck. Started turning it off when weather was warmer and that seemed to help. The guy that laid it for us said it had an automatic shut off at 32 degrees, but that never happened. My guess is they REALLY suck up the electric!

    Yep... anything that creates heat.

    <nerdy blah blah blah alert>

It would have been "only" +37% if *my* reading, taken on the day they send a reminder as
I always do. But, every 2 months, they come around to do an "actual" read, usually 3 or
4 days later. This last time, it was 8 days. Which means next month's electric read will
be 8 days shorter. I figure aberrations like that happen continually, so one will sort-of
cancel out the other... plus I go back 10 YEARS to calculate averages. I have faith in
    the method.

    </nerdy blah blah blah alert>

But if NEXT month's electric use is up, then there is something else wrong... something
that's eating up the volts, amps, watts and ohms. Maybe even some faradays. And I'll need
to call somebody for a check-up.

Beware of (relatively) new eMail malware messages. I've been getting these for a couple weeks now.

    The subject is something like:
"Problems With Your Order - Customer ID 81533275"

    And the message is like:
    "Dear Client,

Do not worry, the mistake made by one of our representatives will be compensated by our company.

The parcel with the reference #81533275 should arrive in 3 business days, as we have re-shipped it
from our storage, as soon as we have confirmed the information on the problem occurred. We are
very sorry for the troubles and inconveniences caused.

You can view the updated information on your order with the compensation mentioned above in the
    enclosed file.

    Regards,
    Raul moorhouse
    7190 5th Ave #7190,
    Seattle, WA 13959
    Phone nr: 641-414-5541"

    BUT!!!
The malware is within the attached .zip file!!!

    Do not click it!!!

    G'mornin, snails!

All I know is that I should have given up "clutter" for Lent. Choosing that as a New Year's resolution isn't as effective because there's no Catholic-Guilt (or the potential for) to be attached to it. Even though I've been non-practicing for more than half my life (wow), that remains. LOL

It'd be cool if killing clutter with fire where it stands was a viable option. :p

Hus and I went to his church's annual "Saint Patrick's Day" dinner this past Sunday.
I stepped outside for a smoke and wandered over to the car, just 'cuz. That picture
above is what the car next to mine looked like on the inside. It was ASTOUNDING.
There was only room for the driver (barely) and the rest of the inside was bagged
garbage, fast food wrappers and bags, beverage bottles all other sorts of trash.

I thought to myself "WHO, at that dinner, belongs to that mess?!?!

We've all seen cars like that.
