I did see there was an update, but my kids have been hogging the computer lol. I figured I'd download it later and see if it fixes that. I don't know how to even tell what firmware I have now! I just got it today, so I know there's stuff to learn, but that one thing is bugging the crap out of me already.

Thanks @greek mule – unfortunately I know nothing about this device. Looking at the FW update they state “Optimizing the ability to automatically detect matching power”. Not sure what is meant by that, the translation is pretty poor.

@MrsP0721 – it is ok to perform a firmware update with the same firmware that is already on your device if that is your concern. But I suspect your device has an older firmware. At least by performing the update, you’ll know what the firmware is.

What is critical is a successful update – it is best practice to shutdown all other application on your computer while conducting the update.

Edit: Just to add – the firmware comes compressed in a RAR format that is not natively supported by Windows. To un-compress the package you need a compatible application. 7-Zip is open source and free to use and supports many compression formats.

@Punk In Drublic thank you! I'll do the update and see what happens. My biggest problem with it isn't even necessarily that it automatically changes my wattage when I put a new tank on, it's that once I change it to the wattage I want, it doesn't change it right away. I'll lower the wattage and the first few fires are still at the higher wattage, then it'll go to whatever I set it on.
