Oh you guys, now I'm going to have to add Toque St. Clements to my list and those two Molens:D

DG, I've got another to add to the 'no orange' list...Ozona Orange. I like it for the Menthol, but I don't get any orange.

You guys?
Come on sunset, don't make me out to be an enabler or something, you know you were gonna be trying ALL sorts of snuff soon or later! :D

I keep using the word "craftsmanship" when attempting to describe de Kralingse products. I think what prompts that in part is the character of the grinds used. If its coarse there will be a good bit of finer material. If it is predominately a medium grind there will be a noticeable distribution of larger particles present. Rather than perfect uniformity, the grinds have a character and a balance.

The other factor that denotes to me the accomplishment of the grinders art is the subtlety in the scents used. Rich, full aromas that stay with you for awhile but do not overpower either the base tobacco or the user.

Oh my. I've just described the Prins Regent!

Light brown, medium grind and moisture. No burn for me, medium to high in nicotine.
This is the Virginia base and yet another winner. The manufacturer says "Based on the Macuba, but enriched with Bergamot oil and a dash of lemon." I think of a light chocolate as I first inhale. This perception is immediately replaced with the smell of sweet hay the Virginia tobacco always puts me in mind of and a floral rather than fruit quality from the citrus elements.

Both citrus and tobacco are subtle, yet wholly present. When the scents do finally fade, it is with a light note of sweet lemon.

Yes I also blame OTD for the most part for all my extra snuff purchases. Nothing personal OTD, but when the husband says "what! moe snuff?" I just tell him about reading your reviews and that I really had to try it!

Sunset I fear perhaps you and I share somekind of defect on the "orange scents", I do not get much orange out of the Ozona either, and I have also tried the Dry Orange snuff, good stuff, has a hint of orange but fleeting ever fleeting.

I shall have to try some of this St Clements

Ya know the St Clements has something going for it. Me endorsing a Toque product does not happen often!

Oh, I bet you're talking about Gawith Hoggarth Dry Orange (or not:D) I tried it quit a bit yesterday and I get 'something', but sure can't say it's orange?

I was doing an order yesterday and trying to decide if I wanted more of Gawith Hoggarth's based on this one...oh heck, I ordered some more anyway of their other snuffs.:)

I lay the blame 100% on OTD's corruption of youth.ok 34 but still young.I had a pretty fair balance of varity BUT with the green waif adoption program I entered in 4 orders from smashboxs and viles to 25 different snuffs added to my 20 in collection that I am willing to share also.wow I also did doubles on the care pack order to test a few myself.so many and not enough money to get them all. Once the orders hit I should post a pick of my snus an snuff collection.

Oh, Dredbull, I don't know...I can't let you off that easy:D I was just about to write you over in the other thread that I bought some McChystals' Hopfen or hops because you've talked about it a few times.

It's good and different. I think I like it because it is different. Glad I got it. I gave some to my brother, too, because that sounds like something he'd enjoy...I haven't heard back from him yet.

But, let's all blame OTD anyway.:thumb:

With age comes responsibilty or so I have always been told. Therefore the oldest can be held responsible.

Makes perfect sense to me LOL

Another snuff using the Virginia tobacco base I am so enamored with.
It offers up a clean, sweet, hay or herbal quality for the grinder to play with.

The Macuba then, is a light brown, medium grind, medium to low moisture snuff with a medium to high nicotine content.
Bergamot and rose compete with the sweet tobacco for front row when first taken up. Not a perfume rose mind, rather the smell of the blossom itself with a citrus underscore is what ends up being dominate over the tobacco. But only by the slightest of margins!

For me this is an extremely easy to take snuff. Many floral snuffs leave me with the sense of a talcum powder smell for a finish.
I've as yet to get that from any of the de Kralingse products, the Macuba being no exception.

A wonderful, wonderful snuff!

god i hope they enjoy the hell out of it. enough samplers and containers to well choke an army unit with.

as I said enough trade bait to garner them through the rough patches. I would rather send enough samplers to get a go on larger portions so not to have waste.
I am thinking more marine mentality of trade stock also, we were woefully under luxury we reconed stole or bartered for them.

the one thing that should be a staple is baby wipes and flea collars. in the suck hygene takes a back seat or near impossible. flea collars to keep the boys from getting eaten alive.

yes i am portioning out some enjoyment from my collection but did orders on stuff i also enjoy in a major way. swiss chocolate, windmill chocolate and a few other suprises.

Out of several different cherry scented snuffs I've tried, this is the only one that actually smells of cherry to me.

On the dark side of brown, fine grind with medium moisture and nicotine.
The smell of this snuff is sweet, sweet cherry. Black cherry or perhaps maraschino, it stops just short of tasting like candy.

Nice lingering scent, non-mentholated, the next best thing to the real thing!

OTD...Do you detect any cognac at all?....Supposed to be in there somewhere! I do get the floral scent...but it seems to vanish quickly into the Virginia Tobacco!......Nice review!

I think this is the best cherry flavor I have had as well. The scent lasts a loooong time(half hour + for me).I have mine sitting in an empty snus tin(ran out of smash boxes),as I had to pour it in to de-clump it...LOL.The only other cherry I am planning on trying is the Ozona...since I am fond of the raspberry. For non-mentholated cherry snuff SG is tops in my book!

Well I wanted to post a little update on this powerful snuff.

I watched a video review of it last night and the young man in the review menttioned that he had dried his portion of NTSU out.
Now a NTSU lover told me on another forum that doing things like this to NTSU snuff would send you straignt to snuff hell. I did consider this warning but quickly decided that snuff hell to a person who loves NTSU straight out of the can is probably not such a bad place for someone like me to be. Most likely filled with snuffs that delight the nose.
So I dumped it all onto a paper plate last night and left it on the counter.
This morning the snuff is dry and flaky, no horse stall smell, just tobacco. I took a little this morning and followed it with a little AP (just to stay on the safe side, since I am already destined for this snuff hell I have nothing to lose).

Not bad, will have to report later as to nicotine and whether that is affected by the dryness but the snuff is snuffable and not unpleasent when dry.

The next portion I will just use the NTSU and then report back tonight on how it is.

So looking forward to hearing what the green waifs think of the snuff and snus assortment they are going to be getting.so far besides a fair assortment out of my collection I added windmill peppermint, cococreme and macuba. Wos brunswick, special dark, extra crumbs a few assorted bullets of qws some menthol, coconut toffee, I should just list out the pile I am sending thier direction. I can tell you folks I also am excited to try a few more.
