Snuff, the Dessert of Smokeless Tobacco

Does anyone want to venture a guess on how long it took them to get "the hang" of taking a pinch? Actually I'm trying everything I can think of- pinching, bullets, back of the hand - and all I manage to do is get the stuff in my sinuses or all over my shirt. The shirt part is fine here at home but not at work where I'm at least making an effort to be sneaky. Tips, tricks, and advice from those who've been down this road are much appreciated!

ACEP.....The onlt thing that is effective for me is the pinch. I generally take an apple seed sized amount and hold it between my thumb and forefinger for a second or two(the heat helps release the flavor)and then raise them to the front part of my nose and gently "breathe in".Some snuffs require smaller pinches based on strength.I often take a larger pinch and move it back and forth between nostrals when in a hurry...LOL!

I don't know what you call it exactly but the thumb method that OTD told me about works well for me.

i prefer pinching....ive tried the other methods. pinching is less messy and more precise for me. im liking the president and red bull but dont like the containers. will have to order a few smashboxes with my next snuff order

I didn't know anything about a 3.25" thumbnail but it also works with a shorter one like mine. It's not the size but how you use it, right?

I have no choice.....the back of the hand thing has never worked for me!....and bullets...One bad experience with those made me never use them again!!

I like using the tiny snuff spoon to place and press. Then the snuff stays right at the tip of my nose. Less bother with the sinuses.

Ya....the nail thingy sure works.....I place a small amount in my hand and use my pinky nail to place in my nose....works great for me! Long nails do come in handy............

Really enjoying Poschl Alpina - I think this has become my favourite snuff. Dark, moist and very sweet.

Oh C!!!....I agree with you...Alpina is a fantastic snuff!! If you haven't tried it yet...make sure you get some Poschl Gawith Cola(Someone mentioned it is going to be discontinued)I also highly reccommend the Ozona(Poschls version of McCrystals O&G IMO),and the Ozona Raspberry!!

Yeh Wiz, Alpina is my current No 1 and the runner up is Ozona Raspberry - never thought I'd find another snuff better than that!
Thumbs up for Poschl.
Of course tastes change with time, but for now those 2 are the tops for me.

C....The RedBull is very nice also....a little stronger with the menthol.The only Poschl i'm not too fond of was the Ozona Cherry.....Very artificial in taste!
