So I was in a store today and happened to see the Snus (not the Swedish stuff unfortunately - the Camel stuff, which I am aware is quite different). Being that I was curious after reading a bit about it, I thought I'd try a couple flavors - I actually lucked out and got it for free since apparently they got some as samplers...

Anyway, I've tried 3 pouches (2 of the frost, 1 of the mellow). I can't keep the things in my mouth under my tongue for more than 5 minutes...

At first they tingle and taste rather good. But suddenly they start to actually burn a bit (not unbearable, but not pleasant), and two out of the three times I got uncontrollable hiccups!

Also, the nicotine content must be pretty high as my head starts to sort of spin. All in all I'm not finding it particularly pleasant at all... Think I'll stick to vaping...

Am I doing something wrong, or just not for me?

I find that they complement each other very well.

Snus for work and when I don't want to be "toying" with things - just put one in and forget about it.
e-cigs for relaxing or socialising.

Mind you, just lately, at home I've been vaping whilst having a snus in at the same time - very bad .
Just need to take a pinch of nasal snuff at the same time and I'll have the set (and probably a heart attack too).

The hiccups were actually kind of hilarious. My mouth was on fire and I was hiccuping at the same time (due to using it wrong) and I was just like "Why the hell do people love this stuff?!?!?" (Extremely spicy foods do the same thing to me even though I love them).

As to the Swedish stuff, more than likely I would prefer it - as far as I know, they don't sell it around here so I'd have to order online. I dunno - I'll see - for now, too many e-cig juice flavors to try. ^.^

I find that Camel is too sweet for putting it in my upper lip, so I put it in my lower lip. In my upper lip, the sweet flavor runs down, and then my mouth waters more and more until I've swallowed too much nicotine and get the hiccups.

By the way... although you usually don't need to spit when using snus, it's ok if you do. Especially when you got a big mouthful of brown spit. That also helps with not getting hiccups.

The camel package says put the snus underneath the upper lip. And wait for the tingle. And enjoy for up to 30 minutes.

That's what the package says, but I normally leave in for at least an hour. Normally 1 to 2 hours for me. There are times when I get busy and I forget I have a portion in, and who knows how long it's been.

No hard and fast rules on how long you keep in in. Whatever works for you.
