The Volt is the best cigarette sized PV available. Has a HUGE loyal following and their customer satisfaction is known by all. The eGo is a little larger so it's all about whether you mind the extra size. If you were going to buy the eGo I'd suggest this one:
AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Joye eGo Starter Kit
with these cartomizers either the Boge stainless Steel or the black depending on your choice of color.
AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | 510 Single Coil Cartomizers
and one drip tip- if for the eGo make sure it's a 510.
http://altsmoke.com/accessories/driptip.html
Also ask about the battery life so you know exactly what you're buying and what to expect.
I still belive you'd like the Volt better but...look and try them both out and have a ball....drive safe and stay happy :D

Oh wow! Smokeless Image has the volt and is not too far from me either. I feel like a kid in a candy shop, super excited!!! Is Volt better than anything altsmoke sells? I read a lot of good reviews about volt so I think it would be better than an ego? But then again, what do I know - you guys are like a wealth of information, support and love - and I could never pay you back but I will dedicate myself to helping others on these forums.

I sympathize. I truly do. I had quit with my wife once and for a couple of months I followed a "closet smoker" status. Well, needless to say she started up again too a couple weeks after I confessed. BUT, the real story was that she completely understood. I mean I was scared beyond belief. She was actually relieved it was a marlboro and not something else.

In December '10, we both got some cheap 808 knock offs. The literal cigarette thing. And haven't looked back.

Be honest. Confess. And when you do order your ecigs, tell him that your mistake is something you don't want to repeat. Even say it if you feel it that you somewhat enjoy "that few minutes" of time. But that's why you are ordering the ecigs. He will thank you for your honesty. And your body will thank you for it's health.

Btw: we vape on ego c twists. Slightly larger than a traditional cigarette. We enjoy it so much, we will be a pair of provaris soon.

I like the part where you DRIVE TO A PLACE TO SMOKE behind a mall. Very interesting.
I didnt even do this when I was 16 sneaking around smoking at my dads house. Would smoke while he was in the shower etc.

I know, it was pretty pathetic - just goes to show you how much of a slave I was to the cigarettes. Instead of taking the chance to be seen by a neighbor, I used to drive to a mall that's only a few minutes away. Then I'd feel too self conscious about smoking in the front of the mall in case somebody recognized me, so I'd actually park behind the mall where the loading/unloading area is. unfortunately that also happened to be where the huge trash containers are, so basically I'd be sitting down on the side of the curb next to the trash. I would get weird looks from the store workers helping with the deliveries outside. During winter, I'd be wearing the same winter coat & pants (my secret smoking clothes) and I wondered if they thought I was a homeless person (since I'm wearing the same clothes all the time and hanging around trash) and I worried about them calling the cops on me.

When the weather warmed up, I did get the courage to sneak a few smokes several days in a row when the neighbors were on vacation - but then my husband was mowing the grass one day, and he called me outside to show this weird looking area in the grass. He seemed really concerned and said he thinks "a large animal" is lurking around our house - he was showing me how the grass is all pressed down (where I was sitting and smoking). He thought it may have been a deer or something at night. I of course couldn't tell him that large animal was me. So that was the end of my secret smoking in the yard. The neighbors came back from the vacation too, so there was no more opportunities.

Have you ever though about a real mod?.

I read enough before I spent any real money that the cigarette style were not going to suit my needs as a true replacement. At the minimum I recommend you get yourself two eGo Twist batteries, a charger, and a couple five packs of cartomizers. Add your ejuice and you're looking at the smallest initial investment for something that works impressively well. With this setup, the flavour and vapour production is absolutely fantastic and by far preferable to me over analog cigs. For me it wasn't about quitting, I've UPGRADED!

Eight days cig free and I honestly have no desire at all to have a cig, exactly the opposite really, I'm paranoid something in my kit will wear out or run out and I'll be left with no other way to get my nicotine.

I was a member of the SSC (secret smoker's club) on and off for 3 years, I know your routine, especially guy w/lawn service one. I got busted a few times and would tell her I had just picked it back up. She really did not know. She still to this day believes I have quit cold turkey for durations of 6months or more at least 3 different times. She was not pleased in the slightest and this last time I quit for real w/hayze disposable's. I conducted my life the same without all the work involved w/analogs. It has now been 6 months really without cigarettes and she is only now starting to appreciate my vaping. She complained that "why did I need vapes when I had quit before w/out them", (if only the pain she knew). She had lots of concerns about the "dangers" of vaping, but once she saw how much cheaper a mod can be over disposables and all the information this and other wonderful websites (youtube) she has changed her tune. She still thinks I vape to much and spend all my miniscule free time vaping, whatever. Also recently her girlfriend and her husband (member of SSC) had a therapy session where his lies all came out. She was like WTF??? So I gave him the info for what I use (vaporbeast) Now my wife want's me to save all the secret and non secret smokers out there one vape at a time. PS I still can't vape inside, kicked outside for my filthy habit..sheesh, life is fun ain't it!

For what you are looking for, the volt would be better. They are having a 6 hour sale on Saturday night, 30% off in honor of Imagine's birthday. head over to their thread to see the details.

I'm not sure if altsmoke sells the volt for the same price as the website, you might want to call and ask.

I suggest that you pm imagine and explain your situation to her. Explain that you can't have something mailed but you live close. Maybe they would let you order online with the coupon on Saturday and pick it up. I don't know if they will, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Their customer service is awesome and they are usually very accommodating with things

Lostsoulcig, congrats on finally doing something about this situation. I can only imagine how stressful this has been for you.

I'll go against those advising you to come clean with your husband. Only YOU know when it is the right time for that. None of us knows you or your husband, and none of us has to live with the consequences of whatever happens when you do.

I wish you the best with this. I think it is a huge blessing that AltSmoke and SI are so close to you. I'm sure they will explain the pluses and minuses of each system for you. You will probably be able to try juices and find one or two that you like, which will cut back tremendously on the trial and error of trying juices by mail order.

Thank you all for your responses. CommaHolly, I do feel like I'm starting to take my life back indeed! For the first time, I'm not trying to hide the smell of cigarettes and not paranoid about being a secret smoker - actually my mother-in-law popped by my house today unannounced around lunch time to drop off somethings and for the first time, I didn't have to pray that she doesn't smell smoke on me, it felt liberating to NOT BE AFRAID anymore. It was absolutely debilitating to live in constant fear, paranoia and guilt. Secret smokers out there will probably associate with me and how we need to basically tailor our lives around smoking and how much we miss out on life because of not just smoking but also trying to hide it. I carried this guilt on my shoulders like a ton of bricks, feeling like the worst criminal in the world due to my secret smoking. When people used to tell my husband what a nice person I am, I would think in my head "if only you knew the truth about me..." I know it sounds extreme, but that's exactly how I felt.

I'm on my third disposable BLU now in three days, and you are right that it gets very expensive. I've already spent $30 in 3 days on disposables and I need to figure out my long-term action plan soon. Did you mean Walmart when you said you got the NJOY at WM? If recharging is the only drawback on NJOY, then maybe I can find a way to deal with that problem by getting extra batteries, etc.

I guess I am just wondering which major retailers (such as Walmart, walgreens, etc) carry somewhat respectable ecig starter kits - I know that I will have to order online if I want to get quality ones like the Go-Go or V4Life, but I'm just curious if there is anything accessible in a nearby store that I can purchase in person.

I know that you all want the best for me, and you're watching out for my best interest when you're advising me to tell my husband but I honestly do not feel like it is the right time now in my heart. I really want to give it a few weeks and find my way in the ecig world before I can have a conversation with him on this. He is also very grief stricken due to his grandma passing because of lung cancer, and it honestly is just not the right time to have a talk right now. I feel more empowered first figuring things out for myself with the ecigs and then talking to him.

Okay, I talked too much again, but I;m so grateful to be able to share my thoughts and feelings with you and listen to you advice. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day

Oh wow did you hit a nerve with me about tailoring your life around the "secret". I don't know how many things I missed out on because of that!! It really is liberating to not have that hanging over your head any more!! :D

lostsoulcig....Your honesty in baring your soul in this thread indicates that you're on your way to freedom. Freedom from the guilt and shame of hiding your smoking AND freedom from the nasty stinkies that we've all been so addicted to!

I hope and pray that all goes well when you do decide to talk to your hubby about it.

As far as gear goes, I've been very happy with the KGO and recently got an Ego C Twist (650 mAH). If I was going to recommend a battery to someone just starting now, it would be the Twist. You have variable voltage in a small package and decent time between charges. It even comes in pink or blue. You may want to consider it along with the Volt. You can never have too many batteries. Ask me how I know! :)

For juice, be sure to check out AltCig. Especially since they're within driving distance for you. I just received my second order from them and they have some really tasty juice at reasonable prices. AND they appreciate their customers and provide great customer service. I highly recommend them!

Please keep us updated on your vaping journey. We're all rooting for your success! Big hug to you!!!

Gloria

P.S. Oops!!! I just realized that AltCig is in Nevada. It's AltSmoke that is close to you. Ah well, you can order AltCig juice online.

Lost, congrats on taking this first step. It is huge!! So so proud of you!

I highly recommend altsmoke. They are fabulous to work with. I order from them all the time. I am a closet vaper outside of my immediate family. Where I work, vaping is banned!!!! I could get fired for vaping. Unfortunately I socialize with coworkers as well as spend 12 hours per day with them. I have hidden my vaping habit from all of them for over a year.

I am gonna go out on a limb and suggest the silver bullet from altsmoke. You would need batteries, a charger, and the silver bullet. The batts are large and can hold a charge for nearly 24 hours. You can recharge them when you are home alone during the day. If you purchase 4 batts you could get thru the entire weekend with no charging at all until you are alone again on Monday. The beauty of vaping is you can do it very stealthy and rarely get caught. I vape in the bathroom at work all the time, no one has ever been suspicious at all. You can vape when you need the nicotine fix and leave no odor behind.

I realize the silver bullet suggestion is a big step from the blu disposables but you can have minimal daily upkeep with the sb. It is larger and not cigarette looking, but it gets the job done well. When you settle in to your vaping comfort zone you can tackle tanks for your cartos and literally have the easiest vaping experience.

Wishing you nothing but the best of luck!!! If you choose to keep your vaping a secret it is very easy to do! Sending you a big hug!!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to give you a quick update: I went to walgreens and got a disposable Blu e-cig yesterday and it is so wonderful! It is exactly what I'm looking for in terms of the throat hit and the amount of vapor. I have officially not smoked analogs for 3.5 days now! When I feel like I might give in, I just reach for my disposable Blu and it really works in curbing that addiction! Here is my dilemma though now: I read on here that the disposable Blu's are indeed great but when people buy the starter Blu kit, it is a far cry from the performance of the disposable - if you have tried the Blu starter kit, could you share your experience please? The disposable Blu is working so well for me but it is $9.99 for one at Walgreens and I'm worried I cannot manage my addiction on them. It says one of them is equal to about a pack and a half of regular cigarettes and I wonder if that's been the case in your experience. If that's really the case, it may be worth it since I was paying about the same amount for two packs of camels. Is there any other ecigs I can look into that is the same caliber as the disposable Blu? If you were a disposable Blu user, what have you switched to afterwards that satisfied you? Thank you for all your help and support and sorry about the million questions. Thanks!

WOW!!! Congrstulations! You are on your way!! I smoked for almost 30 years and hid it from my hubby and most other people for the last 3. So I can definitly relate. I do now vape openly and in front of him and he supports me 100%.
I agree with a few other people here. Get the Volt with the PCC. Good luck. Oh and only you can know whether to share your past smoking with your hubby or not. The truth my set someone free but it can also hurt some people.

I can't wait to see how your trip to a vape shop goes!

I'm also in Ohio, but a long way away from you and the good vape stores. When my kids go back to school in the fall I'm going to take a road trip to Indy to check out the vape store there. My youngest was only in half day kindy last year, so not enough hours for me to get there and back.

I know what you mean about the freedom from the smell. When my parents would come to visit, I used to have to meticulously clean my smoking area (outside) and I'd usually leave the doors of my car open for a few days (sometimes even leave some sort of food in there, French fries seem to cover the smell), febreeze the hell out of it, wash all my coats and any clothes, hide the smokes, etc... Then I'd also have the cravings while they were here and I'd chew nicotine gum like a fiend or invent an errand to run so i could sneak a smoke. Even with having to hide the vaping supplies, it was still a heavy weight.

Oh, be careful of your computer history if you are not ready to discuss this with him. If he found lots of computer searches for e-cigs I'm guessing he'd know something was up.

And if you told your PC to save your password, as is often prompted, he may be able to see ECF in your history, and read the whole story here himself.

Your story sounds so much like mine except for the fact that my husband knew and I was able to smoke in front of him but, hide if from all my friends and family members. It is very tiresome trying to hide it. As far as driving to your secret place, sooner or later someone you know is going to see you whether you realize it or not. It would be better for you to tell him before someone else does. I do agree with the other post, I am sure that he already knows. He just may not know how to talk with you about and he may fear the fight it could cause or fear that it could tear the marriage totally apart. Plus, no matter how well you think that you are disguising the smell with what ever. It always is still lurking there after whatever you use to try to disguise it. I have smoked for more than 40 years. I was getting tired of the smell, all the coughing, and the phlegm that was stuck in my throat every morning.

Take a chance and talk with your husband. I am sure that he is only concerned about and your health and wants you to be around for a long time. I had my ecig for a week before I told my husband that I had one. His comment was, "I don't care how much you spend on one as long as it gets you off those nasty smelling things." It has been almost 2 years now and I couldn't be happier that I made the switch. Do your research and I am sure you will find the right ecig for you. I had bad luck with the pen style. It would activate in my purse and it melted the mouth pieces. I am using the Provari mini and have had very good luck with it and like it's safety features.

Good luck. Been there and done it. It is worth it.
