So here's what I'm looking for..

Wasn't really sure where to post this, so I'll just ask here. I've been looking and looking.... and looking around the internet for the right mechanical mod. I'm looking for something inexpensive (would like to keep it under 50 bucks for just the mod, the cheaper the better) but reliable, not prone to misfires and such, something stainless steel, simple, not a lot of ornaments/engraving, just very straightforward and short in length... I like a rather stealthy looking vape. Is there anything that you think would fit the bill? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a stupid question, is the 21mm / 22mm option just a different diameter of the shaft? What's the purpose behind that? I'm asking because I'm completely clueless with mech mods, I didn't know this was a thing. haha

A mech is just a steel tube. It`s all about the switch and the top connection. Me personally, I don`t believe in 'the cheaper, the better' and definately not for a mech. Best ones are super-T, Vapourart, GG and yes,Caravela, but not the clones. Why don`t you have a look at the classifieds?

see, i disagree with you on that one. i have had many clones that perform just as well as the originals, if not better sometimes. on mechs i see no problem in performance with the mods, especially since as you said, it is just a tube. with regulated mods though, it is worth the money to buy the good stuff

Haven't got my caravela clone yet, but my nemesis clone was worth the wait from FT. But, I'm still waiting on the magnets for the switch.

I totally understand your point of view, but I'm a broke college kid. Haha, not the best of reasons, but with trying to reup on all my vape supplies (took a break for about 6 months) it's getting expensive. Also, as others have pointed out, most of the clones work very well. I will eventually buy a legitimate mod, but I can't really ignore the china-made knockoffs right now. Especially with the added costs of batteries and a charger, I'm trying to keep it around 80 bucks all in. Thanks for the suggestion!

I won an HCigar Nemesis clone at a local vape shop. It is performing very well. Last I checked they were around your price range. It's telescoping so you have a choice of 18350, 18490, and 18650 battery sizes.

If your looking for a Caravela clone, I would suggest the Caravela made by 'HCigar'. From everything I have seen, the HCigar has about the best build quality as far as the clones.

Here is where I bought my Caravela mod clone:
Hcigar Caravela Brass Stainless Steel Mechanical Mod Vape Best Quality | eBay ..... This mod comes with an 18350, 18500 and 18650 length tubes.

This will cost you $38.50 with free delivery for the brushed stainless steel version. This clone is 22mm outside diameter. I would recommend buying a mod that is 22mm instead of 21 or 23 because most rebuildable atomizers such as the Kayfun Lite, etc are also 22mm in diameter (so a 22mm mod will match the diameter of the atomizer perfectly).

It's up to you, but I would not get a brass version of this clone, because brass tarnishes very quickly, and you will need to polish it all the time (unless you like the look of tarnished brass).

After much searching, and I mean A LOT of searching (i've spent literally all day on my computer shopping for my mod and accessories) I finally pulled the trigger on a Caravela clone in 18650 mode, all SS, even the top and bottom rings, caravela drip tip, AW IMR batteries and a xtar charger. I'd say I'm good to go.
Can't wait to pop my IGO-w on this beauty.

So I'm curious, where'd ya get your mod? Really like that version, very nice looking mod. I think you made a great choice. My Nemesis clone will be here Monday, but shoot I kinda wish I would've looked more into the Caravela line.(clones of course) Stingray is next on my list.

I honestly don't know who makes it. I got it on eBay for 35 bucks. The seller shipped it out from Las Vegas Saturday and it literally was in my mailbox almost an hour ago. In Alabama. I also bought a caravela drip tip from a different seller, also here today. Good job vapers of eBay!

Unfortunately, until my batteries come in at the end of the week, this thing is just a glorified paper weight. The build quality is pretty good. Threads mostly smooth, some squeaky but that's not a huge problem. Button needs to be worn in a little, but yeah I think it will be a good mod. I'm sure you'll be happy with your nemesis, and if you want one of these eventually, fasttech has them on the cheap. Happy vaping everyone! I'll report back on the performance later this week.
