Let's say you have 36 MG Nic unflavored juice and you want to cut it to 12...do you cut it with VG/PG or distilled water or a mix of both? Math tells me it would be a 2/1 mix to achieve 12....allowing a little room for flavoring...is it that simple? Newish vaper just thinking about trying DIY...sorry for the noob question.

The cost for 12 MG Nic juice and 36 MG nic juice is the same, so it would seem to make sense to get the higher concentration and simply cut it...but it might not be that easy.

It is that easy. What I usually do is buy 48 mg nic juice and cut it when I mix. I use a spreadsheet and a calculator that I downloaded to get my percentages where I want them to be. Once I have the recipe it is just matter of adding the right percentages of nic base, pg, vg, and flavoring to a bottle. Then shake and steep it using your preferred method before vaping.

You can cut it with PG and/or VG AND possibly, end up with your preferred PG/VG ratio at 12mg concentration as well, depending on what that preferred ratio is, and what base (PG or VG) your nicotine is in. What ratio are you looking for and what is the nic base? I never have used Di water, so if that is what you are hoping to go with, someone else will have to chime in.

Let's say you have 36mg concentrated nicotine in PG, which is probably likely the case. And let's say you want a 70/30 PG to VG ratio at 12 mg nic concentration. If you make up 10 mLs of ready to go juice, use:

3.33 mL of nicotine in PG (this will dilute the 36 mg to 1/3 so 12mg concentration)
3.67 mL of PG
and 3 mL of VG

for a total of 10 mL at 12 mg nic concentration with a ratio of 70%PG and 30% VG (7 mLs of PG in 10 mLs total, 3 mLs of VG in 10 total)

Whatever flavoring you add of course will dilute this, but a few drops of a few flavorings won't dilute too much. There is also a DIY calculator in the DIY section, it's great and will DEFINITELY be helpful to you.
