No way in hell am I sitting there with a cup or water or drink in hand everytime I want to vape. Or making sure I have a drink after vaping, measuirng my water consumption, monitoring it, you know? Things like that feel goofy and annoying to me, I just want to pick up the pv and have a good few tasty blasts and not have to think about anything else. Same when I used to work out, go in the gym, exercise and not think about calories etc...

So is the standard govt reccomended 8 glasses a day enough? do a couple extra coffees count?

Discuss vaping and h2o consumption here....

I still have my coffee in the morning and lots of it. Getting up at 4AM and dealing with clients at 6AM requires it. I also still drink tea and maybe one or two sodas per day, but I've also started including water or KoolAid. I don't make myself vape and drink, vape and drink. That's just ridiculous, but I do listen to what my body is telling me. When my mouth feels dry, I drink a little bit. I know that caffeine is dehydrating, so coffee, tea and sodas aren't going to help, which is why I drink water based, non-caffeinated liquids.

The classic recommended intake is probably actually fine, just that I make sure to distribute it a bit. I don't drink water every time I vape by any means, but for instance I know when I drive I tend to chain-vape off a passthrough, so I do keep a water bottle in there and get a drink before leaving the car (just a bit).

Real-world, I know that until I started vaping I absolutely didn't drink anywhere near 8 cups of water a day. I did drink more coffee then than now.

For me, standard sign is that if I am even slightly hoarse then I need a bit more water, similar to diving where the air in the tanks is dry.

I used to need to drink a little extra water to keep my throat from getting irritated, that was like the first 2 weeks. Got a sore throat and is passed, and has never came back all these many months later. Did the water help, is that the cure all to avoid throat irritation? I dunno. Little extra water never hurt anyone, but the longer you vape, the less sensative it seems you become to high Nicotine and high PG juices.

I actually upped my water intake significantly. One of the things I noticed was an increased buildup of plaque on my teeth, which is a sign of dehydration.

Although, I vape very heavily since I was a three pack a day or more smoker. So I don't think my results are universal.

But with the extra water, my teeth don't feel hairy by midday.

Meh... I don't drink any more water now that I used to. I tried it a few times, drinking water while I was vaping, but it didn't really make a difference for me.

I don't feel dehydrated from vaping, and I chain vape (3-6ml a day with my eGo-T). I haven't noticed extra plaque on the teeth, I haven't had a dry mouth at all.

Maybe I'm just lucky, I don't really know. My daily pure water intake is about 24 ounces, at most (I drink water with meals). And I'll have 2-3 12oz diet sodas in an evening. Add in the occasional Beer, and I'm still doing fine.

YMMV.
