add my counter/banner at the bottom of my posts now? I want to be able to track/see my progress of not smoking the stinky sticks.

if you google quit smoking banner you will see a bunch of sites where you can get a banner. Mine is from: http://www.ecigalternative.com/quit-counter/quit-smoking-banner.php
then copy the BB code and paste it in Edit signature in settings.

Hmmm I don't seem to have a signature area in my profile to edit. Does it take some time after I reach my post limit to see this?

They make you wait until you get 15 posts...I did the same thing, looking everywhere for my "edit sig". Drat! I'm not very good with the patience thing...
