SO, i got a little ambitious tonight! (By the way it's my nineteenth birthday as of 25 minutes ago!) I decided to pull apart a protank and re-wrap a coil on a wick using the protank wick's base.

Step one, oxodize the mesh, cut to size, wrap coil, insert into base, work out hot spots, prime wick, fill tank, VAPE!

Here we go! Pic one: nicely wrapped wick on the old evic. Pic two, reading 1.2ohms! (vaping at 3.8). Pic 3: Success. Cloud is larger in person. Just some 50/50 12mg pomegranate raspberry juice.

Aside from showing my success, i wanted to prove that wrapping a coil on a pro-tank is quite easy and can be done within 10 minutes. =) What do you all think?

And a very happy birthday to you!

Saw posts before about mesh wicking a Protank, but never tried it. Until just now. Your post made me want to give it a go so I did just that. Wound 7 turns of 28 gauge around a 5/64 drill bit, rolled 400 mesh to slide into the coil, and put it all together. I don't pre-oxidize my mesh since I use the pulse method. 5 minutes later I had a 1.0 ohm cloud generator! Not quite the flavor as when I used cotton, but I think I'll leave it in there; the quick draw and the extreme vapor is very good! Thanks so much for putting the bug in me.

Good job! And happy birthday! Looks like you made yourself a nice little gift there :vapor:

I ordered myself a Noble 1 Hybrid as my b-day gift to myself =)

Scalewiz I am happy you gave it a go! Although, i wouldn't say the mesh is any better than the standard silica the coil heads come with, but it was a fun experiment. Glad you decided to try it!
