I have the general theory down. The parts switch, battery holder, 510 connector but I have a question. What supports the 501 battery connector. There seems to be no lock ring to tighten it down even if I make a tight hole I would think it will become loose after a short amount of time. Here is one style I am looking at. but even the non wired ones have to means of support , no lip etc. thanks

As said above check out the modding forum if you're interested in building, lots of info there but to answer your question there is one connector I'm aware of with a locking nut, it's a lil more expensive though. It works well if the material isn't to thick for the nut to grab threading on the underside. I still use epoxy with them to secure the nut in place on the underside then screw the connector into it.

510 to 510 adapter | extender

For the others like in your link they are press fit, drill the hole very snug then press the connector into it, most use epoxy on the underside, especially for plastic material. They work well also, I've never had one come loose.
