So I woke up in the middle of the night,

and decided to do some prelim stuff to do a cosmetic mod on the man XL pink freebie i got (since i'm not a pink fan *so* much, i figured it was a sign i should start 'sperimentin with some ideas).

but i decided step #1 would be to sand off the pink just so's i wouldn't have to worry about covering it completely, depending on which idea i went with, and only had a course grain sandpaper handy (i.e. i am not going out in below freezing weather at 2 AM in my jammies to dig for sandpaper in the back building).

and now i have a gorgeous, shiny, 'brushed' metal manual XL. guess that cosmetic mod idea will hafta wait. i think i like this better than the chrome (which i hadn't ordered yet, actually).

course i miss the V4L logo...

Now wet sand it with a super fine sand paper, then get some turtlewax and buff the snot out of it. Then clean the wax off carefully, and lacquer it. BLING!

Before you lacquer or seal it, stencil the V4L logo onto it with gold model paint or use the mottled gold Krylon spray. Double BLING!

i have some mottled copper... no gold. lil worried bout buffing though--god knows how much pink paint dust i got in the manual switch.

it's pretty freakin' blingy though. i might hafta do this to a couple more. and here i thought i just saved myself ordering a chrome.

now, you're the one who told me the world is round (like a ball!) 'drenalynn. can't push 'em. must make $ to buy V4L stuff. and i actually like them, for the most part. *sigh* why can't a girl spend her whole life just vaping and playing spam teh forumz? oh, and chopping up stuff with a hatchet.

i'm loving my 'brushed metal' bat more and more... so much so that i completely rehauled the custom paint job i was doing on the lanyard to match it.

tenebrae, acrylics mostly, along with this silver enamely stuff i have. there's a long way to go yet on the painting... i'll prob finish it with a glass type spray so it will end up being hardened.

me too... and i might redo another batt with copper. sanding it, however, comes out BRIGHT silver/brushed metal. but i'm sure with a manual batt and a lil tape to protect the button/ashcap/carto-threads, some rustoleum would give you a niiice copper finish.
