This is soooo weird! I've been vaping since April and never had any troubles. Last Thursday, I ate some cereal that irritated the lining of my mouth. I continued to vape, of course, and by the next morning, my cheeks, and soft palate (top of mouth nearest the throat), and the uvula were all swollen and very read. I had red blotchiness on the hard palate (top of mouth nearer the teeth) and throat. Only this morning is it feeling like it's on the mend.

Since I know the cereal irritation didn't do the swelling, I am thinking that the vaping while the membranes were irritated caused some kind of allergic irritation. I'm going to try vaping with PG again after my mouth is healed, but I'm wondering if I had a cumulative allergy that broke through.

Treated with Benedryl (diphenhydromine) for the allergy and Alleve to reduce the swelling.

I had a similar cumulative response with cats. I had a cat for about a year when my allergies began to come through. Now, when allergy tested, I'm HIGHLY allergic to cats.

Ya I get that way with odd end things. grass for instance, as a kid never bothered me. Could roll around in it for hours. Now If my skin touches it, it becomes splotchy and red and itchy. My daughter is the same way. I also have a cat and actually my allergy to him has become less. Not sure if i built up an immunity to him or not but he really doesn't bother me anymore. Now if only the weather changing didn't bother me so much lol. Darn this stuffy nose

Really near the mexican border.
When I first started vaping, some 6-7 months ago (had to ask the wife) I made my own juice, my using wintergreen oil, Vg and nic juice. Then when I found PIF, I got into tasting new flavors and new combinations of PG/VG. Well the first time I vaped a flavor with more than 60% PG, I nearly coughed up a lung. I have asthma anyways, but this was a different kind of cough. I really didn't produce a phlegm with the cough, but I would cough until I couldn't breathe and my throat would start to close off, face turned red, etc. When I went back to my 100%vg I didn't have the problem at all. Then after a few months of VG only, I slowly added pg back into the mix, but never go over 70/30 mix (VG/PG). If I get a juice through PIF or elsewhere with more PG, I will add VG to it, until there is a lowered pg level.
Nic doesn't even matter any more, just the base liquid. When I start coughing like that, and it still happens, I just lower the pg level, until I stop coughing while vaping that particular juice.
Have a great day~discovering whether juices have any pg in them. I also add 25% flavoring to my VG to get that TH and lots of flavoring, no PG unless I am making it for someone else. I also use a little bit of pg if I have a week flavor and need that flavor brought out.

For those that don't have allergies. Allergies can start at anytime in life. Something like cats, you can be born with the allergy or it can build up and the 14,000th time you put your cat to your face, You all of sudden have your throat close, and go into anafalatic(sp?) shock, because now you can't breathe.
Allergies are funny and deadly! Be aware of symptoms of allergies! stuffy nose, watery eyes, NO fever, rash, hives, blisters on your lips, swelling of lips, face, throat and extremities, itchy nose, itchy ears, swollen eye lids, itchy mouth, etc. Yes they can start long after your childhood.

Hey Lorizgal,

I also have asthma, and ever time I try some juice w/pg I get a reaction from it. I tryed juice like 80pg and 20 vg and after my first drag I get itchy mouth and my asthma kicks In I have to stop, drink some water and vape some 100%vg juice then I'm ok. I started w/100%pg after the second day I was getting blisters on my lips
Get some VG from the heath store and cut it by 1/3 and I was ok with it, So I had to order 100vg and I'm ok with it just wish the taste was stronger but It could also be because my taste buds haven't heal yet.
