I have a wickedly bad swollen uvula and throat right now. Hard to swallow, hurts like no other.. my favorite all PG based juice has did me in. I don't know if he mixed a bit more PG in with this batch but I have to strain to swallow.. What can I do to get rid of this swollen throat? I know I'm going to be cutting down my PG liquid with some VG, but in the mean time anyone know any good tricks to get this swelling down? It's also hard to talk :(

Concentrate on cold fluids, Suck on ice maybe.
Figure what your juice supplier did different. I would be concerned if this some thing new.

Ya I'm not sure why this batch is bothing my throat so much. I was sittin there last night and my throat started to become irritated and then by the time I went to bed I could barely swallow and it's still the same now.

pg allergy is weird Cyia. You have a reaction when the pg levels actually build up in your system. So there does not have to be anything different about the juice. I would suggest using some vg for a couple of days at least until your throat is better. And drink alot of water. Do you have any VG juice? If not please me your adddy. I can get some to the post office today.

Okies! Cut my 24mg vanilla all PG juice down with some VG. Took a 3ml bottle filled it a little over half way then filled the rest with VG hoping I should get a 70/30 mix with maybe now cut to 16 or 18mg nic.. it's working. been vaping it for about 20 minutes and omg.. vapor clouds btw are awesome now! I'm not getting a major throat hit like I was and it's not burning now so this is much better! Thanks all for the suggestions and so forth!

The thing that would worry me is why has this happened when it didn't before? You've been vaping PG mix with no problem until today....if you were allergic to it, then why today? I'm no doc, so no idea, just wondering. Maybe it's a flavor or something else that's causing it instead.

If you have been vaping the same supplier's juice with no problem, I would write them and explain and ask if they changed anything.

Allergies build up over time. Our bodies produce histamines to things that we develop the allergy to. WE can eat, breathe, or touch something for years even before we actually have a reaction to it. It just depends on the time that our body produces the correct amount of histamines that causes the allergic response. That is the weird thing about it. Some things we react to the second time we encounter it, sometimes it is the 10,000th.
P.S. I was a nurse in a former life (20 plus years) and have multiple allergy problems, plus worked for an allergist for a few years so I got well versed on the subject.

Yep..i certainly agree with Starchild. I have never been allergic to poison oak or ivy UNTIL this year.. I have poison ivy growing behind my carport, and i usually just pull it out with my hands... This year..i had a problem. So...allergies can come up at any time.

Cyia.....I have a bunch of flavorings I just got in. I'm off after this week and I'm planning a day or two of just mixing up some things that Ive wanted to try for awhile. I will make extra in vg only ( if its worth vaping..haha ) and I can ship them to you to try. So...expect something in a week or two.....and theres no option to say no...im doing it anyways !! :p

Hey guys/gals. I been vaping now for about a week w/ just a bottle of 100% pg 24mg nic. By the 3rd day I was getting a allergic reaction to it. At first I thought I was getting juice in my mouth but not so. When I vape pg my lips get numb and swell and I get lip burn. Also I was getting short of breath. So I started vaping VG and It started to go away. But my taste buds are shock for now and its hard to taste most flavors. Don't know how common this Is, thought I'll share and see.

The flavors are harder to taste in VG. I have had a hard time finding good flavors using VG. I have read this is an issue with some of the VG juices. I do not know why. I am just getting used to the VG myself. I am starting to DIY to try to get past that issue. I have to use a much stronger ratio of flavoring than what is recommended to get it strong enough for me to taste it well when I have done what little DIY that I have played with so far. I am getting some Goodprophets juice in this week so I hope it is going to be good and strong!!!!
Right now it is trial and error again until I can find some flavors and premade stuff that works for me again.
Good luck Smoking Joe. Be very careful with those reactions. I would definitely stay away from the PG. Reactions will get worse with time. Be aware that a lot of the flavorings have PG bases too. So far I have been lucky and using just the flavoring by itself and using all other VG liquid I am ok.
I am getting pure VG flavoring in too but it is not plentiful and it is very expensive from what I have found so far.
