So I'm contemplating the Provari

There are a lot of perks that come with that price tag...

Best warranty support out there...
Best OUT OF warranty support out there...
Best customer service for a mod out there both for owners and non owners (They answer all questions within an hour when they're open)
You could say best build quality, but that's arguable... There are some chinese mods out there that are built very well now... And ProVape is the reason they are built so well... So in that respect, they were a pioneer of fine craftsmanship
Best PWM circuit out there (acts much more like a mechanical mod than a PWM mod)

There are other mods with warranty support... Only a couple with one year... None that will upgrade your old mod (ProVape will)... None that will fix your out of warranty mod (ProVape will)...

So while the button is admittedly lacking in user friendliness (My Vamo is much easier to set the way I want it), and the price is at least double what you would pay for a similarly well built chinese mod all of the Pro's outweigh the cons...

It's all very subjective though...

I admit, I only paid $110 for mine out of the classifieds... Absolutely worth $110, but I was about to pull the trigger at full price anyway. If you're verified watch the classifieds... Because of the out of warranty support provape offers, there is no such thing as a bad provari, new or used they are going to be equally awesome... Even if the thing were internally just a wreck, all of the guts can be replaced for around $50...

I just received my new "blem" yesterday, and I wish I would have just got it first. It just works. I still don't quite understand the changing of the volts, but I think I will with time, and experience. I love it. Love it, love it.

Which are your personal preferences and do you have any ideas on how to reduce costs on the various components?

I started out on January 4 with the eGo C-Twist, which I really like. It is easy to use for a noobie. Well, within 5 weeks I quit smoking, and purchased a ProVari, which I love! I like the fact that it is made in the USA and in my opinion, it is also easy to use. I still consider myself a noobie and I just simply researched and read a lot here on ECF and ended up buying a slightly used one in the ECF classifieds from an amazing ECF member. I downloaded the instruction manual on the ProVari and had no trouble whatsoever figuring out how to use it. I paid less than the cost of a blem and in my opinion the one I purchased is mint, like new. ~ another happy ProVari user
