As I'm sure a lot of us have looking for that "perfect vape", I've got some mech mods, but as far as box mods I've only got the M80 Plus Xpro by smok, The IPV4, and the newer IPV3LI.. Now when I'm using a tank I'll keep the wattage at the same on the smok.. lets say 45 watts, then i'll set the wattage on my IPV3 LI for 45 watts and the Smok M80 either has higher wattage then it says it does, or the IPV 3LI has lower wattage then it says it does.. The Smok M80 gives me longer smoother hits with more vapor, at the same wattage, I'll even bump the wattage up on the IPV3 LI, but can't seem to get the same smooth draws as I do on my SMOK M80.. Is there any reason for this? I'm bummed because I like the IPV3 LI's touch sensor feature and from what I had heard was an overall great box mod. Why would there be such a difference in the two? I'm using Sony VTC 4'S in the IPV and the SMOK M80 comes with a charger with built in dual 18650's I believe, and seems to last a lot longere on a charge. Another weird thing with the IPV 3LI is that it was at a little bit under half a battery on the display screen, and bam just stopped firing, the batteries were too low to fire at 70 watts which I found very odd considering it had more then a 1/4th of the battery left.. is this normal too?

Good to know... I have the Smok M80 plus waiting at home.

My problem is never with mods... its with the plethora of new sub ohm tanks flooding the market. I have the crown, the atlantis mega, the atlantis, the ego one kit, and the subtank original, nano and mini... the TFV4 in the mail and the Triton and two ISUB-G tanks in the mail from the trade forum.

I have used the subox mini kit the most with the vertical coils for a tasty reliable vape every time. I cant help getting greedy and wanting to try new stuff though.

I am not sure brother -- I do own several pioneer 4 you products and I positively love them. The yihi chips in them are known to be fairly good. I don't own the ipv3 li but I do own the new ipv4s and the thing rocks fairly good. Sounds to me like what you are experiencing is just a difference in the two mods, mainly the chips and the overall total mod design. I certainly would not put too much into it or think anything is wrong as I imagine the difference between the two mods is perfectly normal.

As for the battery life scenario, I don't have your specific model of ipv --- all as I know is that my ipv4s does not do that with the battery indicator as I can run it down very low and it does not shut down. Someone else here who has the ipv3 li may be able to comment as to if that behavior is normal with the ipv3 li.

yeah I have the tfv4 in the mail also and it is supposed to arrive today -- I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on the awesome coils that thing has in it ---- Most reviews plus most folks I have talked to who own one say they love the thing. I hope I do too because I am sick of buying new tanks all the time in hopes of finding a "better" one. lol

I had an IPV3 it was a good box but a friend wanted it more than me,lol. Mine did not have the touch sensor, it was on there but deactivated to to previous release issues.

Have you done all the software updates to the IPV?

No I actuslly plan on doing the software update tonight, I have a Mac, so I'm just going to bring it over with the USB cord to a friends running windows 8

Yes a software update may help the things that you have noticed. I was not aware that you did not already update. If this does not change the things that you have noticed, then it's just a slight difference in mods -- but the software update will have dramatic effects on your mod and improve it greatly.

Does your model have the charge port? If so, in case you don't know, do not use it. They took them out in later versions of the ipv3 due to ruining batteries and boards. I would also watch the touch sensor, they unhooked them due to any liquid on them can cause an auto fire issue.

It's a good box the only problem is they seemed to use buyers as beta testers. What killed me with mine was they did quit cutting the box for charging but left the touch sensor. They should have machined a new box instead of using leftovers and just not wiring up the touch. They even left the programming for it in the chip, you could turn it on and off even though it wasn't tied in, lol.

All that isn't huge except when the 3 dropped it was over 100. To me for a 100, things like that shouldn't happen. It just seemed more of a home made mod or clone, than an actual mass product.

Function wise it worked but my OCD got the better of me, kinda turned me off from IPV though.

yeah Pioneer for you is good about using us as beta testers and they are always doing screwy things to the mods --- BUT, when they do get it right, then they really get it right and you get a good mod -- they did a similar thing with the ipv4 and then they fixed everything and came out with the ipv4s which is a great product.
