I don't really care for fruits by themselves & agree with @Capt.shay that fruits need something else in the mix to round them out. Obviously for you, that's not the case. So, for the Capella I would say 8% would be a good starting point. I've never used the Cherry Berry but based off your 1st impression maybe try it @ 6%. You can always add more. I hope this info helps ya. Good luck...

All right, so I just finished mixing my first e-juice. I used 8% capella blueberry, 3mg nic strength and 80/20 VG/PG.

I just have 2 questions.

1. How long should I leave it for steeping? I heard a week is more than enough for pure fruit flavours.

2. How can avoid hot spots or concentrated spots of any compound? Especially nicotine? How can I ensure that all compounds will be thoroughly mixed?

Oh and, should I store it in a fridge?

Fruits, candy, and desserts have never been my focus in juices, but I'm starting to delve into those lately. The turning point came when I ordered some Dekang premixed juices and did an assortment that included some of the fruits. Dekang Watermelon was a surprise. I vaped a 10ml sample bottle in no time.

Gotta look at which fruit and candy juices I should try next.

Tobaccos generally need long steeps. Fruit, candy, and most dessert flavors not so much according to those who vape them primarily.

Warmth speeds steeping. I wouldn't put it in a refrigerator. Shake it daily for about 30 seconds for the first week and occasionally after that. Bubbles that result from shaking rise through the juice and help to further the mixing effect. Leave it at room temperature. Some will recommend warm water baths or ultrasonic cleaner baths to speed steeping.

Nic, pg, and vg, and flavors blend very well and the thickness of the solution lends resistance to stratification. Shaking occasionally doesn't hurt and is probably a good idea. Nic is mixed with pg and/or vg and the mix generally stays homogeneous. Germs and bacteria don't survive well in Nic based solutions.

Welcome and glad you joined. Some of your answers are answered below and much better explained than I could.

"1. How long should I leave it for steeping? I heard a week is more than enough for pure fruit flavours." Depends on many factors: person, flavor, mix, what with, on and on. Please read above.
"2. How can avoid hot spots or concentrated spots of any compound? Especially nicotine? How can I ensure that all compounds will be thoroughly mixed?" I shake once a week for a month. Most mixes will be ready at the end of a month.
"Oh and, should I store it in a fridge" See above.

So i exclusively make fruit flavored juice. That said you CAN use single flavors, however i havent done so since i started and essentially mixed single flavors together to decide what i liked and didnt like. I am NOT a custard/cream fan but i have 3 recipes i use 1-2% DX Sweet Cream from TFA. It adds just a different note that is nice sometimes not even noticeable but adds to the overall flavor like my peach gummy rings i dont notice the cream but it is different than not using it at all. In my Smurf Berry which is blueberry strawberry cream and EM i do notice the Cream flavor and it is only 2% (most recipes call for 4% i found that to be too much)

Speed steeping will take care of 1 & 2. Warm bath, target temp range is 130 degrees F. If you want it to be completely steeped keeping it at or close to 130 for 2 hours shaking every 15 minutes will take care of both 1 and 2. Some fruit flavors have some Alcohol in them and are required to breathe after speed steeping this is particularly useful as the Alcohol will evaporate faster while at around 130. You will know it needs to breathe if it has a chemical taste to it.

Additives i use most along side single flavoring is Gummy, Cream, Never more than 1% Ethyl Malto otherwise it gunks coils too fast.

Congrats on your first steps toward vaping independence!!!

You mean you dont order directly from TPA/TFA?? I dont mess with the middle man i do bulk size orders though too.

I wish I could, I'd have more choice but I'm in the UK and when I tried ordering direct and getting it shipped over, just says my address is invalid so I'm stuck ordering from importers.

I suppose that makes sense. I especially do not appreciate the price hike middlemen charge, ridiculous for people like you stuck between a rock and a hard place.
