There are so many different options available, cig like, tanks, batteries, etc.
I do have an Ego C, but it just doesn't feel right to me yet. Feel like I'm doing something illegal using it, LOL.
Someone lent me a KR808D, but find that I am getting juice in my mouth, yuk. Do all carts do this?
For someone very new to vaping, and wanting to quit analogs the easy way, thinking of getting a cig like one just to get me over the line with the look and feel being similar to an analog, before going back to the Ego C.
What would you recommend?

I definitely would get a driptip, they cut down on any juice getting to your mouth.

As far as feeling criminal while using your pv- this is a mindset thing, and something you'll have to deal with your own way.
The way I think about it is vaping is healthier than smoking, and the use of a vaporizer is to replace smoking, so if I could smoke without being embarrassed, I should be able to vape where I want to without being embarrassed.

If you feel like using a cig-a-like will get you to switch to vaping easier, by all means go for it. I started of using krd808's, I have two auto's and a manual, but after a while I really did feel like I could use something more powerful that would give me an equal output for every hit so after two months I ordered myself a vamo.

Remember that while vaping is often used in place of smoking, it doesn't mean you have to quit the same day that you start smoking. If it makes you feel better, have a pack of analogs around just in case. I have one, but it's stale and only has one cigarette missing.

When you get into filling your own cartomizer/clearo/tank and want to look for juices there are a couple of great vendors to go through, but my personal favorite is Alice in Vapeland, they make all of their customers feel like VIP members, and the special attention to detail they display makes you feel special every vapemail you open. Some people warn beginners that the juice flavors might be too complex, but I think that's not true. After you start being able to discern the more subtle flavors mixed with the juice it gives you an even bigger appreciation for the artistically qualities.

Remember that taste is subjective, and just because Joe Shmoe (or me, for that matter) likes something, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will. My suggestion is to try different vendors and devices (within your budget!!) until you find the best match for yourself.

I know where you're coming from. I started with Volts, and still use them for out and about...just seems more natural and less conspicuous. As for juice in your mouth, yes a drip tip can help. However, I think that it could also be more condensation. I remember having the same issues, but I think it may have been more my inexperience at vaping...drawing too hard or filling my cartos too full. I don't seem to have those problems any longer.

New also, and using minis (from Halo) until eGo gets here (Monday?). After a trip to local smoke shop, it dawned on me that drip tips on cartos keeps juice out, and allows me to aerate the vape better. As I'm finding out, my tape method will likely change, AND get more pricey, as I search for the cleanest vape. I'm dripping into cartos every 20 puffs or so, just to avoid the dreaded burnt taste.

:thumb: + 1 for what Namir said. Your anxiety with a larger device is all in your mind. Remember, you are not smoking anymore. This is vaping, and you are doing it to quit smoking because it is a more effective method of nicotine delivery than the traditional nicotine patches or gum.

Just keep in mind that the larger the battery, the greater the satisfaction of the quality of vapor.

Use the smaller cigalikes for when out of the house if you are more comfortable with them in public. But the larger battery will provide you with a more satisfying experience at home. Before long, you should eventually get over the size factor of the larger batteries.

You might even end up with a smaller device that uses replaceable, rechargeable batteries like a mod sometime down the road. It's way more convenient to carry just one of them with only a small spare replaceable battery, than needing to pack multiple cigalikes or eGo's that only last 3-6 hours in duration.

If someone should stare at you strangely while using your PV in public, ignore them or smile. You are NOT doing something illegal, so don't act like you are; don't try to hide it. That only just raises suspicions of doing something illegal. Vape hard, vape proud!

Should they ask a question, merely respond by saying it's a vaporizer that delivers nicotine in the form of vapor, NOT SMOKE, and tell them how long you have been off cigarettes since using it.

I generally have begun to not say it is an electronic cigarette. Any association with analogs seems to get a negative response and is probably one of the reasons for any negativity of the label in public.

I have found that most people don't even pay attention to me when I vape in public, and I use rather large PV's that look nothing like a cigarette.

Hi Cocobella,
If you'd like a great cig-a-like kit, the new eRoll is fantastic. You can read up about it at the link below. If you find it appealing, I would suggest you get a few extra atomizer heads and some extra tank/carts. It is a great kit. I bought two over the holidays during a sale. I do have big mods too but I've always liked having a variety of devices to choose from. Small, stealthy devices are some of my favorites. In any case, the eRoll, in my opinion is a winner for a beginner. Here's a link to Good Prophets and the eRoll. Joye eRoll PCC I think the discount code is ecffriend for 10% off and free shipping for orders over $30.00. I've always had great service and fast shipping from them.

I felt exactly the same way you did about ego-type setups at first. I was going to get an 808 but that wasn't much better battery-wise than the Bu's I had. I did a lot of research here and watched you tube videos (Phil Brusardo for example) and read the info on the vendors web sites. I finally came to the conclusion that an ego twist was the best option, as I vape all day long, and was tired of constantly charging batteries. I chose a Kanger t2 clearomizer because the look of it reminds me more of an old-time cigarette holder than what you were thinking. Once I got those thoughts out of my head, I was fine with it. Good luck. :)

I don't have a clue whether what I'm about to say to you means a damn thing you or to me or to any else. So be be it. The first thing you need to know is that you will probably be starting out with plain old generally availible cartomizers rated at 1.5 ohms, and a battery rated at 3.7 volts. This will deliver a huge OOMPH factor at first, which will be very much useful at first if you are JUST RIGHT NOW coming off of analog cigarettes. After a about two weeks of that, you will realise that not only do you not need
that, you don't even want that, because that is one of the primary things that is keeping you addicted to analogs. I AM TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW, LOSE THAT OPINION. YOU CAN, YOU WILL, IT'S NOT THAT HARD.

Ok, did you EFFing hear that?

Look up ohm's law, understand what it means in relation to the combination of the batterrys you HAVE , and the cartos/attys that you HAVE.

OK? Read right here on ECF. You will find out. Just do it. Easy.

Hey BobinSD: Your post caught my eye. I’m new to this but I have been refilling my Carts for a couple weeks now. I have Carts From NEXgen, NLA and GSL. I read an article about refilling these style Carts the writer of the article said that all these Carts can be filled with 18 to 19 drops. I have followed this with mine and have found it works well. I don’t get a burnt taste unless I went to far before Refilling and never get any juice in my mouth. I did follow his instructions to make sure to wipe the inside of the end cap if there is any moister or juice there when refilling and have never felt the need to drip between full fillings this is just My 13 cents Worth thought I would share. I’m getting 3 to 5 hours of Vaping this way depending on how hard I’m hitting it. I’m also getting about 6 hours on these batteries right now they are all new about a week old all were replaced under warranty.

i went with a reo grand to start with.

perfect from day one and have not even looked at a cigg with interest.

they are easy as easy gets, just juice and a battery. go with a cartomizer and your vaping your brains out.
Love the Reo to death but this is a terrible recommendation. Never recommend a high priced mod for a new vaper. Chances are high that they won't like it. Best is to go good and cheap to see if vaping is for you.
